[PRO] Re: Hindmarsh Stadium Upgrade
- Poor refereeing, VAR included; The A-League had a social media post today celebrating 4 red cards last weekend as a highlight of the round. It's becoming blatant they're resorting to controversial refereeing and VAR referrals to gain some notoriety and be noticed. Ultimately this isn't going to t...

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital
In their latest Notes on Adelaide podcast, InDaily interviewed someone from the Parklands Preservation Society. They didn't do their cause any favours in the pod - pretty much the usual mumbling rubbish they pedal, and some bizarre comparison to Central Park (they wouldn't build a hospital in Centra...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Other than to service Hindmarsh Stadium and the Entertainment Centre. Closing North Adelaide will mean anyone using the Gawler Line to get to either of these fairly significant destinations will need to travel all the way to ARS and then either catch a train or a OH/Grange train. Not exactly a user...

[PRO] Re: Crows HQ at Thebarton Oval
If King's Reserve is going to be the home of the AFLW team, maybe rename it "Queen Elizabeth II reserve"? Or just Queen's reserve? Nice try at the misogyny, but the Kings Reserve oval will be the one that’s MCG sized. The main oval will be reconfigured to be Adelaide Oval sized,...

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)
Just on Schnitz, I believe that was South Australia's only Schnitz store. In my opinion, the quality of schnitzels at our local pubs is far better than those at pubs interstate, so I'm not surprised to see franchises like Schnitz struggle here. The Bavarian on the other hand has a lot of other opti...

[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)
I'm surprised Schnitz couldn't compete with the Bavarian. $13 for a freshly cooked, pan fried schnitzel and chips v $30 for a stale schnitzel on it's own. Was very disappointed to see Schnitz struggle through it's time at TTP (noting it was pretty much the only outlet that closed during the height o...

A million in the State budget for reversing the outsourcing contract...to fund an inquiry. Now not happening, seems like Keolis is more than happy to work with the government in handing back the operations https://indaily.com.au/news/2022/06/29/labor-shelves-transport-privatisation-inquiry-after-si...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Fuck, I ride over that pedestrian crossing every day. They've set it up for those new active crossings with the gates and siren, but they're still not actually working. It would be easy to think it's safe to cross currently when it's not (especially if the train is outbound at night, as you don't r...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Noticed that some of the smaller train stations received a freshen up before the trains started running on the Gawler line again. Dudley Park got some new paint, signs, a lot of cleaning and new lighting. Has made a big difference. Shame that a lot got tagged within a day of it opening again... Nur...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
The problem with this site is that it's a dead end. Unless it has a connection to North Terrace or gets demolished and developed, the turnover of businesses will continue as long as it remains a dead end. Agreed. A better connection to North Terrace is vital. I don't think a connection to North Ter...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
Good to see there'll be a high level look at returning buses to public hands.
At the very least, Torrens Transit need to lose their contracts. To describe their services as unreliable is an understatement (buses regularly running 25-30 minutes late on weekends, no response to complaints)
