Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
When will cinema chains learn? A commercial cinema in Adelaide's CBD will only work in Rundle Mall or the east end (which there already is one there, obviously). That end of Hindley Street has nothing going for a cinema, which I'm sure this is why the governkent ditched the cinema proposal for the ...

[U/C] Re: ONH: Tea Tree Plaza Upgrade | $190m
How can Adelaide sustain two major redevelopments of its two biggest shopping malls, in a period of economic and job uncertainty? It doesn't add up. I think either Westfield upgrade or lose more ground to new developments like Churchill centre and the new mall proposed for parafield gardens. The 2 ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
Anne Moray needs to resign. Surely that's against the councillors code of conduct that she has responded in such a manner? Llessur, I'd recommend forwarding that email onto both the Lord Mayor and council administration as a formal complaint and also ask if the Lord Mayor stands by Anne's comments?...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Surprised no one has mentioned this. But Krispy Kreme have opened up shop on the corner of James Place and Grenfell Street. I knew it was there, I walked past it on my way to Gourmet Glaze  The opening wasn't mentioned, but their plans to open there were. Incredibly dirty move IMO, considerin...

Re: Elizabeth/Salisbury | Developments & News
Doesn't Arndale Harris Scarfe still have the escalators (boarded up), the Myer at Elizabeth was a sad failure - good to see HS back. Also were the HS / Myer stores which were John Martins? at Elizabeth, Colonnades and Arndale two stories like Marion David Jones (size?) - I've heard stories they had...

Re: Elizabeth/Salisbury | Developments & News
The Harris Scarfe at Elizabeth has finally opened, some 12 months late (it was a running joke around my mates that the store was never going to open). For a store that was so late in opening, it is very underwhelming. Reduced to just one level now, the store is very plain and white. This was becaus...

In other news, there's another plan to redevelop Parabanks. This time it's truly half arsed. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger/north-northeast/million-upgrade-approved-for-parabanks-shopping-centre-in-salisbury/story-fni9ll1r-1227338555297?utm_content=SocialFlow&utm_campaign=EditorialSF&am...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment
the controversy would surely only be about AUFC not consider AO as a home ground, the other stuff (scheduling two sporting events on the same weekend) is rubbish. The MCG does it 25 weeks of the year. That's what I think too. This weekend is a perfect example of Adelaide Oval being able to be multi...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
Could Greater Union be wanting to return to Hindley Street? They are refusing to commit to a lease extension for Edge Church (even though they promised a response by Christmas). HIGHLY unlikely. Don't forget, they demolished the old cinema and built Edge. On-top of that I think GU's priority is ope...
