[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Sorry to have spelt arborist incorrectly Rhino, but the arborist appointed to my old home in Flinders park by the City of Charles Sturt years ago, did in fact point out, that many inappropriately planted eucalypts through the area were causing issues in the drought due to unexpected shedding of lim...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

River red gums are not suited to an urban environment. Like most things these days it is deemed as the politically correct thing to plant native trees, but large eucalypts are not well suited to formal landscapes, or high traffic areas, and do not cope well with pollution. Contrary to popular belie...

I'm glad to see they've ditched the $70m underground concert hall idea, it was always going to cost more than $70m to build a concert hall from the ground up.
I think you mean "ground down".

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

If they are indeed River Reds they are the most dangerous trees to be planting in public events areas. Besides negating the vistas at maturity they'll be dropping massive branches consistently and without warning. That's an evolutionary characteristic of the species. And if they are they're planted...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Mountain Designs has closed next to former Lorna Jane on Rundle Street which is still vacant. Alannah Hill has also closed on Rundle Street. A whole heaps of vacancies on Rundle including the old American Apparel still. That was a weird one. They had a "stocktake sale" and then they close...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Driving along the Southern side of North Terrace this afternoon(or should I say crawling) from East Terrace and looking at the amount of work still needed to be done both tram stops and track and surrounds as well as overhead etc. there still seems to be a lot of work before it is completed and rea...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I think you overestimate, not only Liberal voters but the vast majority of road users, who think that the bus in front of them is slowing things down. I think you were being unfair to Liberal voters. Id suggest the vast majority of South Australians hold that view, and likely anti bikes too. Sadly ...

I went past earlier and they were jack hammering the driveway to the carpark and removing the railings there?
That could be it. When I went to look they were messing around in front of the podium construction.

They're still demolishing the basement level in front of the stalled construction that they hid under some sand. It's been jackhammers since dawn today.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Even the most self-centred Liberal voters would be able to recognise that their personal drive to work would be improved if "everyone else" was on a few buses and (grade-separated) trains instead of in cars in front of them. I think you overestimate, not only Liberal voters but the vast m...

After 36 Years, Antique Market on Grote St is closing its doors for good.
Frankly a good idea actually because of all the unsafe clutter inside.
The "unsafe clutter" is the attraction. Don't be dim.
