Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

The O'Bahns biggest problem is the shear amount of buses needed about 40 an hour in peak, which would mean 2000 seated passengers, in contrast the Seaford line has 9 services through major stations in peak hour, which would equal the same 2000 seated passengers, this could easily double with 6 carri...

[CAN] Re: 258-260 Pulteney Street |~85m | 26 Levels | Mixed Use

The combined size of the two blocks 258-260 Pulteney Street is about 470 square metres. So yeah something like 16m x 29m.

Re: Glenelg | Developments & News

They won't demolish the Watermark it makes a lot of money, I can see apartments on top of the bistro and the motel facing the Patawalonga, north west corner of watermark. Maybe 3 apartments per level all facing west, so 30 apartments

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The tram is a bit slow from Glenelg to South Tce, 26mins to cover 10km, in comparison the train from Brighton is 28min to cover 16km (all stops). The big problem is the 14mins the tram takes to get from South Tce to the train station. In comparison the bus takes 28mins to get to Rundle mall, the tra...

Gepps Cross Amart is 16.5km from the Airport, the Melrose Park Amart Furniture is only 9km away, still not overly close.

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

Oaklands should be the first crossing to go then Torrens Rd Ovingham then Brighton Rd Hove. Park Tce Salisbury is a high priority - probably next in line but it has an alternative detour. Top crossings for removal - Diagonal / Morphett Rds Oaklands, Torrens Rd Ovingham, Brighton Rd Hove, Park Tce Sa...

Re: Prospect | Churchill | Main North Road - Development & N

Looks like they have a proposal to subdivide the southern third (approx) of the block on the corner of Regency / Churchill into about 60 small plots of land (around 80sqm).

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

What is the proposed speed of the central 17km (Darlington to Croydon Park) section once done? I'm guessing 70 or 80kph, 60 is to slow and 100 is crazy. Currently (according to Google maps) it takes about 30mins in average traffic, a speed of 35kph. This probably been asked before. The speed of the ...

Floorplan of the extension - http://www.brightoncentral.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/RD-Site-Plan-1024x724.jpg. There keeping the old shops (blue), not sure how they will incorporate the northern mall, since Foodland will be built right up to front - probably gut the shops and face them towards...

[U/C] $12m Brighton Central Shopping Centre Re-devolpment

$12m Brighton Central shopping centre has started, 3 houses and old bank demolished late November / early December. I haven't been able to find much details on the development - apart from this http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger/west-beaches/its-official-date-set-for-12m-shopping-centre-revamp-...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Would be nice if they used the old Glenelg to North Tce railway corridor - It's pretty low density so you could build more housing like apartments along the line

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Removing the line from Albert Park to Grange is a bad idea, but leaving it in would cause issues with frequency. You could use the Albert Park to Grange line - and run a service Albert Park to the City via Grange or Henley Beach road. An example Portlink would go via Grange Road to Henley Square and...
