[COM] Re: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

I will add a couple more things: Paying for parking after the two hour free period. This should not have been allowed by whomever. How many supermarket open air carparks are there that charged? Disgraceful. No verandah or awning on the western side left open to rain and the southwesterlies. Mascavad...

[COM] Re: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

Been shopping here since day one and the Coles is nothing special. The shelves are not lit properly and the columns at the back wall are too close to the fridge doors when open. The aisles are no wider than other Coles stores making it hard if you have a trolley and want to squeeze through two other...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Singapore Airlines to increase Adelaide service by an additional 4 flights per week later in the year (Nov/Dec). Not sure if temporary for the summer season or permanent. SQ276/SQ277 only fly in December and January (see below). Never in November. In the past, and we're talking a long time ago now,...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

It really looks half the size of what it should be. I hope it won't be one of those buildings that always look unfinished. Well, it probably could've gone to at least 140m perhaps even 145m max but that would've been pushing the restrictive height limits imposed by you know what. Two buildings curr...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Was going to post this link yesterday morning (24th) but got busy all day. Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

First thing we shouldn't have this discussion on Adelaide Oval here. We need keep it short and simple otherwise the mods should move evrything to the AO thread. Andy, Adelaide Oval lost its charm a long time ago. Charm doesn't bring bums on seats. Comfortable seats with clear views (and I mean every...

Would you prefer a boring cookie cutter stadium with no character?
Give me an example of a cookie cutter stadium? Plus the no character.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

[...] Also, flying Adelaide to America is faster over the Pacific. You mean the distance is shorter. Also there's no plane capable of flying to North America going westward without at least one stop. If you could fly westward into JFK or EWR and then fly out from SFO or LAX it would alleviate jetla...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

I take abc’s point. But I think the modern day perception of what ‘Light’s vision’ was is somewhat redundant nowadays. First of all, trying to accurately assert what his long-term vision for Adelaide is/was is like trying to assert any truth in religious text such as the bible; it’s all a manifesta...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Air India placed a large Airbus and Boeing order just recently, but I think still unlikely to try Adelaide anytime soon. As for Qantas, let's see if they can manage a direct Adelaide - Singapore flight before trying destinations further afield. Speaking of Singapore Airlines - I suspect they do qui...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Much of outbound traffic from Australia goes to London. However, there's a lot of traffic from India. So, which of those will be the first to have an international connection from Adelaide? I suspect that Ho was speaking tongue in cheek, after all, while a direct connection to India is possible, su...

Will it be the Indians or Australians first?

One thing to note is there's no mention of shifting the airport.
Not going to happen until Adelaide hits the same population as Melbourne and Sydney, perhaps Brisbane/Gold Coast if you are lucky.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

I've recently booked a flight on Singapore Airlines and even two months ahead the plane is almost booked out. Meanwhile, the same flight out of Melbourne is priced cheaper and has fewer bookings. Surely it's time to increase the frequency or get some more carriers on board, because the demand is cl...
