[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment
thanks for that... Gee, you'd think there'd be some sort of stand wouldn't you? I mean its going to be used mainly for Sheffield Shield Cricket, which requires a TV camera position and a place for the scorers to sit. as well as the batting team that is waiting for their turn to bat. I mentally pict...

Re: COM: Glenside Redevelopment | $43m
I don't see why this school can't continue to use Flinders University or, perhaps develop/maintain an oval in an underutilized area of the park lands or share with another school. Students, coaches, parents travel to school sports' matches, often on weekends, so a few kms either way isn't an issue....

Adelaide's music scene venues
Do you people want to have a discussion, or simply state that I'm wrong and you're right? Tell me where I'm wrong, and point out the "truth" then. I say HQ is shit, you say I'm ignorant. Tell us why it's good then. I say most of the small bands and groups that play at HQ couldn't fill the...

Am I the only one feeling that the casino extension imposes on the Dustan Playhouse for all the wrong reasons? :? Nope. I've voiced that sentiment in the Casino thread. It's not so much the size of the casino extension, but that it get's so close that neither has any breathing room. I'll happily sh...

There would be design diagrams showing the proposed AO2 upgrade work. Council would not otherwise have approved. Anyone have access to them? I came here hoping to see a diagram/artists rendering too:) Am I the only one who is surprised the ACC said yes? I mean there's 15 trees to be "ripped ou...

Re: 1-8 North Terrace | 82m | 2 x 24 Levels | Apartments
Who cares. It's only HQ. Another just as crappy version will open somewhere else. Maybe they'll go to St Pauls and try resurrect their shit excuse for a "super club" there, like Heaven did? Fail, and then hopefully we never hear from them again. Although I hear some people might be involv...

Re: 1-8 North Terrace | 82m | 2 x 24 Levels | Apartments
Generally, I agree that live music venues should be protected from residential encroachment. But in many ways, HQ has already been superseded as a live music venue since the opening of the new theatre at the AEC and seemingly now by Fat Controller. I don't think we'll lose out on any tours with its...

Re: 1-8 North Terrace | 82m | 2 x 24 Levels | Apartments
HQ's main room is 1100, Gov is 700. AEC theatre is up to 3000 apparently. Possible substitute in the Warehouse 5 proposal with a capacity of 1600. http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1219&p=139135&hilit=hindmarsh#p139132 Fat Controller's capacity is 500, not co...

If they don't upgrade it, then shut it down. Mind you, the whinging from the Scotch College people and "local residents" will be through the roof Well, let Scotch upgrade and maintain it then. I can't understand how both Millswood and Hawthorn stations were closed along that chunk of the ...

Belair line closing, its a perfect opportunity to upgrade that Meccano Set that is Torrens Park   There's been opportunity for over a decade to rebuild the station, but no, Millswood was more important :applause: :applause: They're more likely to close it due to it's proximity to Mitcha...

That is classic NIMBY whether you agree or not. "I like buildings and development as long as it's not near me or my house" lol unfortunately in regards to your ridiculous comment of why don't people just pick one of the houses that are "always available". The market dictates wha...

I'm going against the grain and saying I like the colour! It provides a welcome change and contrast from the usual blue or green glass with grey or white walls. I agree, as I've said above it'll age the building nicely. There are a couple of gothic inspired buildings in Melbourne's skyline that hav...
