Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

Visited Belle's Hot Chicken in Sydney over the weekend. One of the restaurant employees let slip they'll be opening a restaurant in Adelaide in June. I went to the Fitzroy one in January and I was very underwhelmed. The staff just did not care and the food had no flavour. We have better local alter...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

I take abc’s point. But I think the modern day perception of what ‘Light’s vision’ was is somewhat redundant nowadays. First of all, trying to accurately assert what his long-term vision for Adelaide is/was is like trying to assert any truth in religious text such as the bible; it’s all a manifesta...

Jetstar will also base two A321's in Adelaide and use them for Bali lights, increasing capacity: https://www.travelnewsasia.com/news23/142-JetstarAdelaideBali.shtml Personally I'm not a fan, having travelled on an Air NZ A321 to Auckland. A four+ hour flight in a single aisle feels very cramped, th...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Memorial drive looks fantastic compared to other facilities used for tennis in this country (looking at you Pat Rafter Arena). The upgrades have been great (especially now that court 1 has a similar roof on it now too). Plus, on a side note, it's good to see they still use linespeople at the Adelaid...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

It's still located outside the terminal. You need to go through ground floor (baggage area) of the terminal to access it but it's still not where passengers go. I would say it's down the international arrivals end (as opposed to the baggage area at the opposite end of the ground floor). There's no ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Visited the Vickers Vimy display last week.

While it is far more accessible than its former site, and the exhibit itself is outstanding, I was surprised to see it somewhat still hidden away from the main terminal.

Strike action for TT drivers on the table over Christmas/NY https://indaily.com.au/news/2022/12/01/bus-drivers-could-strike-over-christmas Given how unreliable Torrens Transit services are (not to mention how dangerous some of their drivers drive), the drivers aren’t really in a position to be call...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

The Plaza area is an absolute joke. What a completely missed opportunity to turn the space into something usable. 2-3 years of work and for what? some metal trees and a horrible poorly designed car park? Embarrassing The car park is a disgrace and is actually unusable for Festival Theatre events. W...

Apparently a train has derailed (through fence) at Grange this evening: https://twitter.com/micwoodward/status/ ... 5629621248
Yep, looked like the driver overshot the platform and crashed through the fence.

Perhaps they forgot the old terminus across the road closed in 1986 :D

Expect a recount however, Rex Patrick is pursuing the issues around illegal vote harvesting.
With a margin of about 50, I'd expect a recount anyway.

Love it! T-17 days until every second person in Adelaide starts walking around in Uniqlo gear (moving back to Australia from o/s I still never wear anything other than UQ!) I thought that would be the case with H&M stuff but to be honest I hardly ever see any guys wearing it. For me, it'll be s...
