[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
A toll is a tax. No, it's not. It's more like a bus ticket. In a sane world, any toll in Adelaide would just plug in to the existing national electronic toll network. Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane all use the same system and electronic pass from one city works in all. No need to re-invent the whee...

A toll road can have as many entrances and exits as you want. They're all electronic these days.
If Adelaide ever got a toll road, it'll probably be cashless from day one.

Re: Mega shopping mall for Target and Hungry Jack building?
But there's already a mega shopping mall right there. In fact, it has more retail floorspace than any other shopping mall in the state. Of course, I mean Rundle Mall. I would guess the next big shopping arcade in the city will be the Renaissance Arcade site, under Hotel Richmond. That site is amazin...

For what it's worth, from 1 July there will be no toll booths left operationg in Australia. The M5 in Sydney is the last toll road that accepts cash, and it is about to go cashless.Waewick wrote:the logistics would be painful, imagine all the toll booths

I don't agree - weekends and public holidays!monotonehell wrote:Like I said. Shops ARE already allowed to open until 9pm each weeknight, but most close before 6pm.
While I don't disagree with complete deregulation, my point is that the regulations are not the problem.

Re: Who actually does their grocery shopping in Rundle Mall?
It's amazing how much your shopping habits change when you work right next to a supermarket. My former job was right next to a major Westfield. When we run out of something, I'd pick it up the next day. What's for dinner? Anything you want. The 'weekly shop' with the car and trolley happens only whe...

Really disappointed on the laneway activation we were promised. Both laneways seem more desolate than they were before.

Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
(high speed porn for everyone). Comments like that make me question if you even know what the NBN is for. My household has three young professionals, all who regularly work from home. Our 10mbps ADSL 2+ connection isn't enough for that. It's choppy and slow, and forget about it when there's been he...

Re: "Fixing" the Myer Centre
Westfield Sydney is the best example here. The west (old) building has 9 retail levels: B1 is underground food court, G has the Pitt St Mall entrance and an underground mall to QVB and Town Hall Station. Levels 1-6 are all Myer with skybridges on levels 2 and 3 to the east building. The east (new) b...

The Myer Centre - Rundle Mall
I’ve thought about this for a while. This is what I think is needed to to ‘fix’ the Myer Centre. I don't agree with the idea that 5 levels of retail is too high for Adelaide. Myer is a poor design and has given people a bad impression. The food court downstairs is grungy, cramp and dark. Embrace thi...

The irony being that the more that is written complaining not just about the pigs, but about people enjoying the pigs, the more successful they are.
