Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Calibre opened on Rundle Street today moving from Adelaide Central Plaza. Strange timing coming into Christmas and the massive traffic next door Louis Vuitton is getting. The decision to move back to Rundle Street must be getting questioned you'd think, unless they were kicked out as part of the po...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport doesn't yet have a rail connection and it's one of the largest airports in the country... There has been talk of moving the airport up north for years, be that Edinburgh RAAF base or the land parcel in Wingfield above the Port River Expressway, Ultimately Adelaide is...

Wheres the rest of it? Right? Imagine that, having had your branding on (formerly) one of Adelaide's tallest buildings for close to 20 years (if not longer) only then to relocate to a new premises and have a tiny logo on a less prominent building that you're sharing the naming rights wi...

Whilst I like it, a project of this scale in Adelaide without government backing will likely flop during the sales/early-construction phase, or succumb to a dumbing down of the project scale and design. This reminds me of the same ambition behind the initial City Central development which still hasn...

For fucks sake, there’s a 12 storey building next to it. This sort of density is perfect for Glenelg, what on earth is the chief government architect on about. I dare say, this was a case of 'where does the higher density in Glenelg stop'... Build this, and within ten years that entire stretch of b...

Ah yes, those horrible gum tree (the worst variety, I might add) that were only planted in the early-80s despite what some locals tried to appeal masses at the time of that election that they were integral to preserving the history of the Parade. Would be great to see them go, regardless.

The old station road (now laneway) that runs between this building at the ARS needs more activation considering the ARS/SkyCity frontage is basically boarded up with an awning. Alfresco dining with restaurant pods (think the old WH Smith Newsagent in the plaza at Adelaide Airport) would help bring t...

Quite liked it until I realised it was a Samaras development. Will likely be dumbed down a handful of times before and during construction.

I agree with everything said regarding the character these buildings bring to the surrounding laneways, without heritage listing or council/government intervention they will inevitably go with whatever is developed on this site. Developers rarely see it worth retaining heritage in Adelaide because t...

What I want to know is why Mali and his government are handing more $$ to AFC, how the hell is this a 'community' investment? Improvements to Thebarton Oval and Kings Reserve that ultimately benefit the AFC. IF this were an Arts organisation/institution asking for a little financial kicker to get a ...

Piling here will be starting soon-ish. Not sure on exact timelines but expect this to ramp up in the near future. By “soon-ish” I assume you mean January? Would probably be mid January as there's probably going to be a obligatory Christmas & New Years shut down. It's funny the thinking behind t...

Probably Samaras waking up to the reality that there isn’t the demand for the office space he’s rolling out. His Wakefield Street building still only have two floors occupied (Comm Bank).

They need to consider the link between this site and the Torrens, as it is, the Christmas Lights display could easily be relocated to a section of the Torrens within the Bonython Park precinct, this might actually make the display more family friendly.
