Mt Barker buses already have a freeway to drive on.........why would you build an O-Bahn up there? You wouldn't.......1NEEDS2POST wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:23 pm
O-Bahn guideways can run buses at 165 km/h, so a high speed bus to Mount Barker will be much faster than driving. Laying guideways is much cheaper than tunnels.

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy
Two Wells and Virginia will be where the growth happens (where it is already happening).. And they're both already on a rail corridor. Build a new passenger line following the ARTC line from Salisbury to Two Wells or even extend it to Mallala Seriously what is the point of expanding Adelaide's urba...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy
Maybe I am out of step with "modern thinking". I think we'd be better off if Elizabeth, Mount Barker, Stirling, Reynella, Noarlunga had stayed as regional centres rather than becoming predominantly dormitories for people working in Adelaide. There are a lot more populous cities in the wor...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
The Port dock frequency really should be 15 minutes during business hours, 30 minutes at night is acceptable. Outer Harbor can be an express to Woodville during the day, not quite sure how to work the night time timetable.... The reality is very few Adelaide people use public transport at night, eve...

Adelaide's public transport users need a more powerful voice OPINION It’s no wonder that public transport users are the bottom of the policy pile when the best-connected and most well-resourced transport lobby...

And a new gas plant to come online......eventually replacing aging equipment at Torrens Island facility, and will integrate "better" with renewables.

The electricity producers themselves use to provide grid stabilization services in the past.......an operator would be assigned that role during their shift. This person would literally be watching the frequency stability of the grid constantly. I believe at its peak the electricity providers were c...

Surely its sale (government portion) would depend on the lifespan of the battery? Do they even know how long these giant batteries will actually last being relatively new technology? The battery is expected to last 20-30 years (or 10,000 cycles..charges and recharges). Sorry no sources for this ass...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
The South Australian government own 70 mw (or 70% of the battery). Neoen own 30%....however the government pays Neoen to "manage" the (whole) battery. So who gets the money from the frequency control services? My guess is that when Neoen uses its part of the battery the money goes straight...
