It's not only the tone of the different sections but the actual surface finish is highly inconsistent - some smooth, some speckled. I keep thinking of pieces of toast with alternating smooth and crunchy peanut butter...

Looks like they've taken the roof off - at least on the southern side. Car Park closing for construction in February apparently.

Unlikely, the block is no bigger than a standard housing block - I'd say 800m2 as a guess.

Apparently the window supplier for this and a number of other prominent developments has gone broke. I assume though there is plenty of time for them to tender for another supplier.

Wow didn't expect a fixed crane on this site. It's only 8 levels above ground from memory.

There is a story circulating that they did do something like that - bought up all of the trams and lines and dismantled them so that people had to purchase cars....

Surely that existing building is not heritage listed? Why would they keep that façade?

I'm seriously hoping they can find a way to not close the car park, or just for a weekend maybe. No idea if that is structurally possible though. Imagine if they did, Adelaide would only have twenty million carparks for the time it was closed. :( True, but I get discounted parking at this one!

I find the blank northern wall strange...I wonder if they are aware of a further development on the adjacent block to their north?
