[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Then why have the northbound carriageway through the north most bridge span at the northern interchange, while leaving the centre span unused and useless? Way too much of the current project would have to be reworked to ever build the rail component.

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

The original Northern Connector proposal included a railway in the median which will divert freight trains away from the Salisbury Town Centre area Oh yes. Why was this scrapped in the first place? I read about the reason for changing from in the median to on the western side of the corridor but co...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

The latest DPTI update has some new video footage of the Northern Connector. Not sure when the footage was taken. https://youtu.be/uut6HkSsINs I'm not normally a hater but what a load of b.s. Apart from telling us how many shrubs they have planted, there is absolutely no information in that video w...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Community open day currently scheduled for Sunday 8 February. Likely to take another couple of weeks after that before opening to traffic. Yep, apart from the southern interchange, bugger all has been happening on the Bolivar and northern interchanges. Some of the variable speed signs at the northe...

[COM] Re: [U/C] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Are there road design rules about how wide these shoulders and the traffic lanes should be for various speed limits? Yes, absolutely. I'd say that having individual lane speed signs means motorists can be notified that the left lane is blocked (with a red X) and the other lanes are reduced to 40. T...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Northbound elevated Motorway has been resurfaced, and is now consistently three lanes from Regency Road to the Southern Interchange. The emergency stopping lane around the on-ramp from Grand Junction Road has been removed to enable this. I could never understand why it went from 3 to 2 suddenly the...

With only 5 weeks till the construction industry break for Christmas / new year there is still heaps to do at the southern, Bolivar and northern interchanges. I don't think the general public will be driving on the NC till at least January or even later.

Handrails don’t look too bad. They will be replaced in coming weeks with the same large screens found on the other bridges. When driving on it at the moment I am taking in the view. Dont see why the bridge would need throw screens as it is not designed for pedestrian access. Yes you could lob an ap...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Ho Really, what's with all of your going against the grain of late? Time has been saved by the implementation of the O-Bahn tunnel, whether they needed to spend that much to make that happen is another story but there is no denying it has saved travel time for buses. Patrick_27 , since day one I've...

Disinterring a third of Hindmarsh Cemetery to accommodate a shallower curve at the current level is not likely to be a popular solution My mother heard on the grapevine that for some time, the State Government has been quietly buying the plots in the cemetery as they become available. I thought tha...

R2P update:
With redwood machinery and royce ave shops now demolished, it only leaves the solar shop on regency road, a hydro/airconditioning shop and the soccer ground to be demolished. SAPN works are already underway with relocating the HV lines to side streets.
