Heard today that later in the year when the O-Bahn tunnel opens that the Clarendon Street Bus terminus(layover area) will close as the University intends to build on that site. There will be a new set down bus stop opposite, before buses terminate at a yet to be advised location!
Awesome. Source?

Re: Beer Garden

Over the weekend the government caught over 700 people on their mobile phones, each being fined $389. Conservatively they earned $272,300 in 2 days!!! Any move to driverless cars is going to massively effect every governments bottom line and ability to increase funding at the drop of a hat such as ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The old tram line ran older street car style trams [don't shoot me], we now run modern light rail trams. The requirements on the rail and overheads I would expect would be different. Also the old track under the road I believe is actually only the old sleepers, not the track itself. Either way I'm s...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The minister for transport Mr Mullighan said the main reason the original tram stop was moved was to allow the safe access & disembarkment for the disabled. The original area has quite an an incline/decline near the Festival centre and opposite. The original area also has a traffic-light-contro...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Significant sections of kerbing and footpath are marked up along the northern side adjacent the oRAH. Appears this may be for excavation/road widening?

Great vantage point Chilly. The service rd and carparks look weird/silly from that angle. Future parklands or future building?

Re: City Loop

Indeed Morphet St over West Tce would have many benefits. I was mainly attempting to tweak the current proposal to be a little better. It should be noted however the West Tce alignment would pick up on the nRAH, Adelaide HS and would run adjacent to the nicer (non graveyard) section of the western ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I really feel that locating the new KWS stop at the Riverside location vs adjacent Festival Plaza directly east of the southern railway station exit is a mistake. I wonder if the gradient or other aspects were issues or if they're trying to activate the "Riverbank". Either way when the lin...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

A simple Nth-Sth line and a Est-Wst line would be the simplest and most future proof.
With good frequencies people can choose to walk if only a few hundred metres, or wait 1 or 2 minutes to transfer trams.
I am concerned with moving the riverside stop so far from the railway station.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

There should be stops for both extensions just near the corner of North Terrace and King William Street to enable easier connection with the Glenelg tram(assuming the present route remains unchanged?) and also King William Road/King William Street buses.. Possibly. However, the present Entercentre ...

Re: City Loop

The western leg of the loop is the sticking point. Makes sense to go either down Morphett Street from North Terrace via on road sharing down the two slip lanes either side of the Morphett Street bridge and either through or around the sides of Light Square; or, alternatively down Gray Street throug...

Re: Coopers Stadium expansion

Cheers Hooligan, couldn't pass the pay wall though. Found "Plans for new multipurpose rectangular stadium soon to be with State Government" dated 10 Dec 2016. Sounds like its just Adelaide United sent state government the plans for the new Sydney Stadium. Trouble is rugby is much bigger t...
