[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Whilst this is an exciting project and will transform Adelaide road network, I think we still need to remember that any images or videos are just concepts. Final design is still a fair way off and wont be concluded until the end of next year at the earliest. Latest timeline can been seen at 29 minut...

The final layer will be SMA type asphalt and requires warmer temperatures to place.
Expect some action on this next month.

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

A maritime precinct sounds good.
Since we also have submarine history near Port Adelaide, maybe they could also bring the former HMAS Otama Oberon Class submarine over from Western Port Bay in Vic to display near the clipper. They have been looking to offload it for ages!

That is what I was thinking.
Large scale moulds are likely not cheap.
You get the walls the builder can make/source.
Not quite. You get the walls that the designers or engineers specify. Govt or builder procurement don't give a shit about cost of new moulds etc

Good to hear. With unemployment the way it is in South Australia we need more road projects that are shovel ready asap
Sadly, construction isn't scheduled to commence until 2024

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I think there was some sort of DPTI conference on Monday and there was a bit more detail on the proposals for the final section for North South Corridor. It is now down to 2 options: Option 1 - Open Motorway A combination of at-grade, short tunnels, lowered and elevated motorway as seen on other par...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

The State Maintained Roads dataset uses Port Wakefield Hwy north of the Northern Expressway, and Port Wakefield Rd south of it. Is that consistent with the mixed signs you saw? Interesting that "officially" the name changes at NExy. I never thought that was the case. As @ChillyPhilly ment...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Did a quick run along the NC this morning. Very smooth and not much road noise.

Minor issue, but there are inconsistencies with signage for Pt Wakefield Rd. Some signs say Pt Wakefield Rd, others say Pt Wakefield Highway.

I totally agree with you SBD. So what is your/the forums thoughts on the Fed. Govt spending $9.3billion on inland rail from Melb (via NSW) to Brisbane for freight? ie why the inland rail will work here vs road and what do you think are the differences to our situation?https://inlandrail.artc.com.au...
