Rather they run one car every half hour than two cars every hour.

Perhaps they are the pumping stations mentioned in the recent email from the T2T Alliance: “Pit lids for two of the pumping station pits in the South Road lowered motorway will also be replaced.” T2T Alliance is advising of upcoming night and weekend works to install anti-throw screen columns and pa...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Is is true that any station at which the tram-train needed to stop would have needed to be modified to have a platform at a lower height to suit boarding the tram-train?

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station
The gradients for the remainder of the Adelaide Hills include several more stretches of 1 in 45, including around Petwood and Callington, and 1 in 49 coming into Murray Bridge. From Murray Bridge to Serviceton, the maximum gradient looks to be 1 in 80. But from Serviceton to Melbourne there are agai...

[VIS] Re: Interstate Trains at Adelaide Railway Station
A better way would be to realign the Adelaide-Wolseley line out of the inner hills. The map below is a hastily made simple version of maps I've already made, but the idealised bypass in pink (tunnel and viaduct combo, obviously won't be a straight line) will run Mitcham to Crafers, then follow SEF ...

[U/C] Re: Torrens Road Grade Separation
I'm not surprised the Torrens Road level crossing sees higher traffic than the one on Park Terrace Salisbury, because the Torrens Road one is on the fastest route to or from the city for commuters living in a fair sized residential area. Whereas, with two equally good routes to and from the city in ...

Drill a tunnel through the hill from the lower arrestor bed on the South Eastern Freeway, to come out on the North South Motorway on the vacant land near Ackland Street, perhaps with incentives for Olympic Industries and Parmalat to find new sites. there aren't many dairies in that part of Adelaide...

[U/C] Re: Torrens Road Grade Separation
Mawsonguy, if I understand your diagram, would the right turns from Churchill into Torrens pass under the northern bridge, and then up a ramp to join the southern bridge over the railway? I found a paper that says: The maximum loading height for wagons between Adelaide and Perth/Darwin is 6.3m (or 6...

It’s not difficult to find a park if you’re willing to walk out in the rain. Meanwhile for those of us who want to park undercover it can take a while. I welcome the multi storey car park.

The Advertiser reports "the North-South Corridor is a step closer to completion, with Tuesday’s State Budget to include $252 million for planning works on the troublesome final 10.5km stretch." Now known as the River Torrens to Darlington Upgrade Project. Options include a 2-lane tunnel, 3...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport
As a local resident I’d rather the railway line was converted to a path for cycling and running, starting from Belair railway station, with a connection to the Crafers bikeway, and a connection to the Amy Gillett bikeway.
