Re: Lower South East Pulp Mill
Good to see Rory is backing this project. From today's Advertiser: Fight over pulp mill taken to the House NICK HENDERSON May 31, 2007 02:15am A GROUP opposed to the proposed Penola pulp mill took their case to Parliament House yesterday. The No Pulp Mill Alliance is concerned about the water requir...

Re: Adelaide Entertainment Centre - rumours of closure and sale?
Outdated? How long would you expect an entertainment centre like this to last? I would have thought it's got quite a while to go before it's ready to be replaced. Is it even 20 years old yet?

Re: Investors want state to consider road tolls
It pains me to read posts about rail to Mount Barker. This is never going to happen and never should. Have a look at the route - it is never going to be time-competitive with busses, even if the metro system does get standard-gauged, and therefore no-one would use it except for the occasional ride f...

how do you expect these vast areas of parklands to be better maintained, with drought like conditions and water restrictions? By changing the nature of the parklands from huge open grasslands to more of a bush feel. The ovals will still be maintained as green playing fields, but the area in between...

Sounds good to me, although I agree with Nick X about the way Olsen's legislation seems to have been twisted to make a loophole. From memory there is a shopping centre about 50m north of the junction on Marion Rd anyway isn't there?

I am in favour of jobs and investment too, but at what cost? I don't know how much consultation went into the decision to grant Theo Makris this opportunity, the first I heard of it was on this board, but I'd be interested to find out. Did the people affected get a say in it at all, or did they find...

Get a grip Will. Everything Stumpjumper says in his April 02 post is pretty well right on the money. Imagine if it really was your house, how impressed would you be. Would you just go and move somewhere else? Too bad you wouldn't be able to afford anywhere decent because you just lost $100,000 value...

The signage is on all the buildings from KPMG to Hyde St, so I guess that tells us how big the footprint will be.Pistol78 wrote:Signage is now posted ALL over this site giving some interesting renders (Some we haven't seen before). Urban Construct is FAST!

Made by damming the Torrens River. Canberra is on a man'made lake (much bigger than Torrens lake, I know). Apart from the fact that the land along the Torrens is zoned as parkland, why should it make any difference to a precinct along a waterfront? If it was zoned commercial, why couldn't it look li...

I think the railyards site is a good choice for the new hospital, which I think Adelaide, and the good doctors, nurses and other staff of the RAH desperately needs. As stated earlier in this thread, the number of people involved with the hospital will create a need for other services in the immediat...

Well if u look at the fact that south road/sturt road handles over 60,000 cars per day and is over 8 lanes from what i can remember, compared to south road near mile end way which is 40,000 cars per day due to it being only 4 lanes. Jimmy, this is not the only reason that the volume drops to 40,000...
