Apparently R2P is several months ahead of schedule.
hopefully all the experience gained from all the recent projects using prefab bridge spans will flow on to level crossing removals

Re: Geelong Victoria Developments

I think Gold Coast has that title firmly in it's grasp for the foreseeable future. There's also plans for a 45,000 resident housing development worth $11 billion. What's Geelong got going on, that our regional cities don't? A deep water port, good rail connections and not too far from Melbourne.. a...

Re: Geelong Victoria Developments

As shown in the image is the 5 stages of the CBD West residential developments. Two of the high-rises seen here have been built. The tallest of the development is 30 storeys and approximately 140m in height, which I'm assuming will give Geelong the tallest skyline outside of the major cities. I thi...

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

https://www.riverlea.com.au/img/pages/home/feature-2/xl.webp The picture looks like a nice aspirational vision. I can't work out what the multi-storey buildings by the lake are meant to be, as the high school isn't proposed to be near the lake. Water level in the picture looks way too high to be ab...

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

Only way rail would be justified would be if the salt pans got developed into housing with 20,000+ people and a train line spured off just after Dry Creek, it would have about 4 stations, the stations would be: at the new estate at the salt pans, Paralowie West, Virginia and Riverlea. The line woul...

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

I think the horse has already bolted on having provision for a central railway station inside the development. The alternative should be a line up the middle of PWR like the Mitchell Freeway in Perth

West Gate Tunnel in Melbourne appears to be using 15.6m diameter tunnel boring machines to create three-lane tunnels.
Last week they mentioned on 9News I believe, that the TBM's will be "custom made" for the project here.
all TBM's are custom made for the job they do

Re: Housing Developments | Northern Suburbs

This land and much more has been marked for residential development for ages and its been within the metropolian boundary for a long time as well. They can call it a town, village, satellite city or whatever else they want. Within 30 years its going to be just another suburb of Adelaide proper. Jus...

Re: Adelaide Plains | Development and News

The developer is promoting a 35Km trip via a MW to the CBD which will take 35 mins by car, that comment says to me this is being positioned as nothing more than an outer suburb as Rev mentioned previously. Good luck making it to the CBD in 35 mins with the traffic from Buckland Park, Two Wells, Vir...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

They should have grade seperated Womma and Curtis Roads when electrifying the Gawler make Womma Station an Park and Ride and a simple bus stop for quick transfer, people in Eyre, Davoren Park etc could get off the bus there to get the train rather than Elizabeth. It should have more frequent servic...

[CAN] Re: Hove Level Crossing Removal | $171m

If they elevated the rail to Jetty Road they would also need to lift Brighton Station, which would be more complex due to its layout. It would also increase the ongoing maintenance costs for the elevated station. A viaduct will overlook people's and if steel and metal would it not rust. I assume yo...

Re: Adelaide Plains | Development and News

Is Buckland Park finally under construction? there's a lot of earth moving going on out there Hopefully not. well it looks like it's well and truly underway now, they're either building dikes around the entire site or just building a long sound barrier And now they've spruced up the mounds of dirt ...
