Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I agree that Norwood is the most obvious and best choice However I'd do prospect first, show the benefits and especially the improvements to both traffic and property value (which was one of the most absurd arguments last time) Then go in with an actual plan to address traffic around the Parade once...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I'm very disappointed there's been nothing in that regard. Has there been any non-road transport announcements other than reversing the public transport privatisation? Because Labor is apparently focusing solely on health and Libs on shoring up seats it needs to hold. It's really disappointing. Sen...

Re: New City Arena
FB_IMG_1646306258547.jpg Nee stadium for Tassie if the AFL grants them an AFL license. 27,000 capacity. AFL sized stadium, obviously. What are they proposing here for nearly $700 million that's for sports that use playing areas not even half an AFL oval? Gold plated toilets? No roof ? (Thats a gues...

[VIS] Re: [VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker
An "expert" has said it would only be 55 minutes by railcar between Adelaide and Mount Barker railway stations, including several intermediate stops. This is presented as needing minimal infrastructure changes, and using excess track access so it would not interfere with freight operation...

So how many studies do we have showing a rail corridor is not viable?

Re: SA Economy
4.8% is "amazing" let's be real, in the historic scheme of things. But the common plebs who believe this as fact and don't do their research about how it's calculated and what it actually means, bless them. It's not the worst, at all, considering the circumstances were in, it's actually a...

Re: SA Economy
I find unemployment numbers odd.
I don't believe we ever got below 4% and I don't believe it's only 4.8%
It's all smoke and mirrors with each party picking their favourite number that makes them look good.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Classic. The only reason the Liberals here are such big advocates of buses is because they never have to use buses and therefore don't realise how unreliable, slow and tedious to use they are. Hopefully Labor announces more rail plans leading up to the election. I'm a tram person, I recall asking m...

Re: SA Economy
Absolutely. But to take it a bit further, I've always imagined 2 million would be a perfect population for Adelaide. With urban infill and more medium density housing.... like we're seeing now. Also, why not set the target big and go for a CBD population of say, 100k in the next 30 years. It could ...

Thousands of new jobs? Too bad they'll rush to fill them with overseas migrants instead of investing in training locals, as usual these days. Overseas migrants? Sounds awesome! Agreed, highly skilled migrants. Would love to see 2 million people in the state Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
I don't see what's going to compel trucks to take a much longer route like that short of banning them from Cross Rd and Port Rush Rd, there's no way that bypass is ever going to be faster than just plowing through the CBD ring route. Speaking to transport companies it's cheaper due to the lack of s...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic
Be curious to know about the Truro bypass, doesn't seem a lot of money given the terrain.
