Re: News & Discussion: Trams
This and the axed Hove railway overpass project are examples of chicken shit government. The costs are for construction by private enterprise. For the cost of a bike overpass, the government could house 60-80 families during a housing and rental crisis. It's a bit far fetched to say that a governme...

Do we know that it still looks like this? If it's finally been lodged, it's surely been through a few Design Review Panels.

Re: The SA Politics Thread
The easiest way to fix this would be for Australia to become a republic. Done and dusted. What would you do to the states? Our governor represents the Monarch, not the governor-general. Would each state also become a mini-republic? Would we still have governors, but they’d represent the President? ...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)
Yeah, the Rundle Mall store is way too small. Results in a smaller range, and an unusually cramped experience. I love Uniqlo but have only visited the CBD store once. The shopping experience was very cramped and frustrating and I'm in no particular rush to go back again. Maybe once the Marion store...

Are you wondering about their committment to a city campus? I think there are many operational reasons that would explain a smaller start. For example, shifting building end dates likely would have been a challenge for timetabling so they've probably only moved the more straightforward courses now....

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
It could be right that a few courses originally slated to be held in the CBD have shifted campus, but once everything's up and running in the new building, they will likely be held there. I'd heard that it was more than a few, but hopefully just teething problems. Are you wondering about their comm...

Honestly, for such a small plot, this is fine. It looks less awkward at this height IMO.

It's seemed like this one has been very slow so I hope it now gathers pace. For comparison, O'Connell Street's crane went up about the same time (Jan last year?) and it's more advanced on a much bigger build. Indeed, basement notwithstanding, this may soon be lapped by Victoria Tower on Grote which ...

Re: the ramps, is there any reason you've not included landscaping between the ramp and fenceline? A nice planting scheme, climber or hedge would go some way to softening the intervention and reducing ambient heat on North Tce. In terms of symetary and material, not much fussed, but I do think bronz...

IMO aside from being very exposed, the tiers are not deep or levelled enough to offer decent sight lines, and in any event, view only towards a bunch of utitlity boxes: https://i.imgur.com/ADUxEqg.png I had a look on the way past this morning and it appears the utility boxes have been moved. Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
That's a crazy underutilsation of the West Lakes land in a housing crisis. Waterfont and 10km from the city! But apparently the ample detached single storey character of the neighbourhood has to be protected? This government's attitude to development is not fit for the times. I was a resident of th...
