Re: Liv Golf Tournament

In a surprising development, LIV Golf is set to merge with the PGA Tour, so I don't like the chances of a return tournament.

[PRO] Re: Masonic Lodge | 183m | 42 Levels | Mixed Use

I've always thought that a museum of South Australian history is something that's been lacking. We don't spend enough energy teaching kids & newcomers about what's come before us here. The closest we've had until now is some of the Aboriginal exhibits in the SA Museum, parts of the Migration Mus...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

When even the RAA are agreeing with increased spending on the rail network, you know it NEEDS to be done.

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

Even if you ignore the heritage buildings, the parklands or the imaginary strawman complaints about aircraft noise, it's still a crappy location. The fact the main entrance would be around 700m from the corner of North & West Terraces mean that most people are unlikely to park in the CBD & w...

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

Ironically enough, Lot Fourteen would've been a far better location for a new W&CH than this.

I mean, probably a good idea to wait until there's... y'know... tourists before you start building a hotel.

Here's a photo of the Southen Cross site post-hotel demolition

As you can see, they did a good job building a "retro" facade to it, but the actual arcade had nothing at all to do with the old hotel building.

The SA Tourism Youtube page uploaded this yesterday

So, considering the closed borders to the Eastern states, there may be good news for Adelaide-Auckland upcoming.

The Scooter Guy, What have our daily newspapers got to do with it? Daily newspapers aren't as big of a problem as news.com.au is. Search "news.com.au +kmart" and see all the free kicks that website gives KMart. Just a sample of headlines: "Inside the life of a Kmart influencer" ...

[U/C] Re: Central Market

They would want to be very very careful with what they do. The central market charm might be lost for good if they try and make it what it isn't. You're completely right about how vital it is to maintain the character of the actual markets themselves. However, there is absolutely nothing whatsoever...

[COM] Re: The Bend Motorsport Park

I can’t believe “neighbours” complain about the noise! It’s 100km from suburbia - how far out do they have to go? Plus it’s only 1 “big” event (20k-40k people!) a year and they complain, I have heard it all. Well they're going to be building a drag strip, which would raise the noise levels somewhat.

[COM] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | 55m | 12 Levels | Hotel

Love the curves, the finished product will look great and bring a whole new hub of activity and interest but can't help but feel it's a lost opportunity in terms of an iconic tower in this space, imagine that building but all the way up to the 120m - 140m mark, to then be complimented by the Walker...
