This is the building in question. Even if spruced up, I don’t think it’s all that appealing. https://www.flickr.com/photos/dct66/4507457048/ Totally agree. Basically a piece of shit building that should have been erased from KW st years ago. Agree with Ho Really and others, this site deserves a tal...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

There's not many images showing the tower, since there's a lot of uncertainty about if and when it's going to go ahead. It is going ahead. They haven't built the footings and 5 levels of core and columns just for fun. Yeah that is encouraging. However there doesn't appear to have been any announced...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

If it is a full tunnel, I believe it will be the longest road tunnel in Australia at 11km. NorthConnex in Sydney is 9km and WestConnex has different tunnels between 7.5km and 9km. NorthConnex cost $3b, but I guess it wouldn't be comparable to ours because of a different geology. It will not be tunn...

[COM] Re: 73-85 Pirie Street | 89m | 22 Levels | Office

Makes you wonder why taller buildings can get up in strange pockets of the city (like CBD east) meanwhile there seems to be this stunted growth with those buildings along Waymouth/Pirie and Currie/Grenfell. This building looks great but would have looked better with a podium spanning the whole site...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Has anybody seen any images with the top of the Walker Tower shown?, it always seems to be cut off to not overwhelm the space - just co-incidence I guess? It’ll be a similar height to the Intercontinental It will be appreciably taller by approx 20m. Check the facebook link, the fly thru illu...

As reported on 9 News Adelaide on Sunday: The transport minister Stephen Knoll has delayed any final decision for the N-S corridor for at least another 6 months. They will employ tunnelling experts to assess the area for viability including what soil types are underground. More experts more reports...

This is a week old (sorry, forgot to upload), but shows a different perspective from other photos and also shows the Festival Tower columns starting to come out of the ground! Do the columns wed this site to the existing design or would it be possible for another design to be engineered to the same...

As I have said before, the moment the Libs started talking about tunnels etc was just a delay tactic not to build anything. Another 10yrs is a horrible thought, but gives a clear understanding why someone has allowed a brand new petrol station built on the eastern side of south roads at Eddy Town. ...

That's the problem in SA..they are making it up as they go along, stage by stage. And the clowns sitting in parliament are talking about tunnels...HAAAAAAAAAAAH.. [/quote] Yeah totally agree. The ALP plan was fine. A couple of short tunnels under Bradman and HB Road. Why pursue this fantasy of a tun...

Re RTCC.

Was the then Bank SA tower when constructed in the late 80's built to the RTCC ceiling, or was RTCC increased at that time to accommodate the tower?

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

What is with the total deteriorated landscaping at the Festival Centre tram stop. Have the ACC washed their hands of it? It's an absolute disgrace. This is the one of Adelaide's icon destination points and the area surrounding the Tram stop looks like something one would see in a third world country...
