[COM] Re: #PRO: Highway Inn | 8lvls 34m | Hotel | Plympton
I'm for one am grateful not much is happening yet. Just look at the picture on this billboard of what is being built there: http://xaragmata.mooo.com/album/adelaide/west/plympton/slides/IMG_8882.jpg We don't need another ugly car park visible from the street - move parking behind the building, or el...

Re: Is it too late to save the Port?
I think there is a line between what is worth saving for heritage purposes and what should be redeveloped. In my opinion, something should be saved based on it's own merit (is it a good building? nostalgia?) not just because it's old. For example, I love neo-classical and Art Deco architecture. Not ...

Re: News: Adelaide City Council
Rundle Mall needs widening, it feel claustrophobic. OK, that last comment is too expensive.... you get the drift. Or create an extra pedestrian mall up Prospect Road as it runs through Prospect (with a tram looping through the middle because it is a long road). Btw, there are lots of people on here...

Re: Tram link to North Adelaide (and possibly Prospect)?
Could a tram link up to North Adelaide (and possibly running up to Prospect) be sucessfully done? It sure is possible, and it was possible more than 60 years ago too! Here is a map of the old Adelaide tramway system on 1952 before they started pulling it up: http://www.johnnyspages.com/scapbook_men...

Re: Ideas on how to attract more people to SA?
Start a construction frenzy with neo-classical public buildings and moments (like those found along North Terrace) and relabel Adelaide as the 'classy city'. I remember there there was a once a suggestion for Adelaide to embrace the fact that we have a lot of universities, and should focus on becomi...

Re: Vision: The New Adelaide Metro Era
I think this is excellent work! This is very well done! The original domain has gone down, I was able to access the map uploaded to Sky Drive: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=8ac526a53435b646&sc=documents&id=8AC526A53435B646%212294 . Did you contact the Advertiser? Might I suggest trying to c...

My Vision (zoning, dev, transportation,..)
If there was a hypothetical situation where, starting from today, I was an advisor to all of the local governments in metropolitan Adelaide. This is what I would do to craft the city into my utopian dream. Eliminate zoning for the majority of the city. Zoning artificially limits the growth of a city...

Re: #SWP: Islington Business Park
On a related note about the Prospect area, what ever happened to the Prospect Rd pedestrian street conversion that was apparently approved? http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2739 I e-mailed the Mayor of Prospect about my concerns with the area around Islington Station...

Re: #SWP: Islington Business Park
As a local resident, these plans break my heart. To me, they read nothing nothing but parking lots and big box stores. What happened to the focus on high density retail and residential development in the area, desired so greatly by the local city councils? As someone who doesn't drive by choice, mos...
