They've taken the glass beads out of the paint for some reason. It's happened on other roads that have been repainted.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
If you haven't come across it already, this interactive map shows the extent of the system and you can see old photos of it by clicking on the tram icons: https://www.trammuseumadelaide.com/interactive-map The problem with trams is that it's expensive to maintain dedicated infrastructure, whereas b...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Why do they only use one platform at Gawler? It doesn't go to one track until the Gawler Oval side, so it seems this restricts the frequency of trains for no apparent reason.

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b
I believe the built version of the Northern Connector left a railway reservation on its western side (earlier designs had it in the middle). It's intended for re-routing the interstate line not a new metro line though. I don't know where(or if) an allowance has been made to get it across Port Wakef...

Hey sorry, missed this one. Ideally yes - we've got clear instructions to deliver something truly iconic with a focus on public space that everyone can enjoy. That's why there are no apartments, there are better places to put housing -this building is all about enhancing our state's cultural boulev...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
An example would be 40 min instead of 30 for OH, and 40min for Port Adelaide spur. You could obviously be flexible with 1-2 extra peak services. By my estimation, you could achieve this by increasing operating cost by less than 20%, but I'd hazard a guess that a service direct into Port Adelaide, h...

Re: SA Economy
What is the separate superannuation figure? Is it employer contributions being set aside for current staff? Or is that amount included in the main “employee expenses”, and the extra superannuation is the cost of providing the Defined Benefit Scheme pensions for retired public servants who were in t...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
The skip-stop pattern used on the Gawler line has got to go........what a disincentive to use public transport! You are sitting a the train station and you can see the train coming, but no it does not stop, in fact it speeds up......  Time to delete Greenfields, Nurlutta and Gawl...

The State Budget is up. https://www.statebudget.sa.gov.au/budget-papers Enjoy! Budget paper 3, table 2.5 says employee expenses will be $9,384 million plus $1,225 million in superannuation in 2023. Table 2.9 says we will have 87,704 full time equivalent employees in 2023. This means the average pub...

We also don't charge for connections made in under two hours. Not many other cities are like this.

[U/C] Re: Ovingham Level Crossing Removal | $231m
The other thing needed is a grade separated pedestrian crossing. This is especially a problem with the ARTC line where long trains can block pedestrian access for some time. I don't know why in situations like this where the line is going under the road, they don't position some of the platform unde...

Re: SA State Election 2022
Why a bus tunnel? While many bus routes go through the city, they do so because it's the main start/end point for peoples bus journeys. So a tunnel isn't enough, you'd need stations along much of the length of the tunnel along with pedestrian access to the surface. A truly staggering cost for...wha...

Re: SA State Election 2022
As far as I can read into the situation, ACC will not do anything about Currie or Grenfell Streets without a matching, or higher funding contribution from the State Government given that it is the busiest bus corridor in Adelaide. agree with this stance, the buses (and commuters to a lesser degree)...

What exactly costs $52 million? Jackett's Siding doesn't require much upgrading for Adelaide Metro trains.
