Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport
Looks like the battle to preserve the rail corridor between Tanunda and Nuriootpa has been lost. Having previously lost the line from Nuriootpa to Angaston, and the other branch line from Lights Pass to Truro years before that, and as Penrice Quarry hasn't rail stoned to Port Adelaide in recent year...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects
This is a crap idea that has come back around again, so they suggest moving the through heavy traffic away from Portrush Road to Grand Junction Road through a different set of suburban intersections of another suburban main road, not really solving anything. How about finishing the NS MW and buildin...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
If there was to be a Two Wells Adelaide Metro train service then why not build a new line north of Dry Creek leaving the current Salisbury Two Wells train line as freight only. The new line could head north from Dry creek skirting between the North South motorway and just west of suburbia at Salisb...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands
Ahh, the Adelaide Cuty Council and its naysaying fellow travellers. Dithered again, in the face if someone wanting to improve the sad old parklands. Suppose they will go cap in hand to the government to bail them out if this, and still get a half arsed outcome of the least effort possible. But hey,...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
Don’t let Anne Moran get under your skin – she is for the most part irrelevant, not many people take her seriously. Every so often she takes a contrarian view on key issues of the day to make sure her name appears regularly in the media, to ensure her profile is kept up. I wouldn’t worry too much ab...

Re: Superloop 500
And for what’s it worth, I think the State Govt may want to consider changing the focus of any future motorsport event in the parklands once the Supercar hold is over after next year’s event. Consideration should be given to changing to an ‘Adelaide Motorsport Festival’ with the State Govt as the ul...

Re: Superloop 500
The Adelaide 500 motorsport event has just recorded its lowest crowd attendance in 17 years. Apparently, SA Tourism has been tasked with managing a ‘postmortem’ into why this occurred. I believe there is only one more year left to run on the current contract, to host this event. Is this going to be...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects
Apparently Infrastructure SA is releasing its 20 Year Strategic Infrastructure plan soon, in March? It will be interesting to see if there is any substance or just more waffle. After all, they been at it for well over a year. As SA is, for the most part absent on the Infrastructure Australia's proje...

Yes - I just doubled checked the current zoning, the 40m-70m height limit does stop west of Hutt St, this site definitely falls into a lower height limit, but clearly the planning authorities have overridden. But you're right, the zoning for this site should have been updated, to be fair.

Wherever you live, you need to be aware of the zoning and allowable building heights for your position. It doesn't matter if you are in the city or suburbs. There are plenty of objections to suburban development too, this is not just a 'city' thing. I am not sure what the zoning was when the objecto...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands
Maybe the time has come for Adelaide to consider becoming another Brisbane, in the way local government is managed. Brisbane consolidated their 20 or so LGA’s into 1 mega LGA to reduce costs, reduce local infighting and streamline local government decisions for the better good of a wider community. ...
