Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

I wonder why they don't just convert the Obahn to a tramway and then connect that in with the Port Adelaide to Glenelg line. This busway work would get that started. I don't live in the NE suburbs but I'm assuming that O-Bahn buses come from all throughout the area and then come onto the O-Bahn tra...

No, there won't be O-Bahn track along Grenfell St. Think of it as something of a Brisbane busway or how the bus runs down the middle of West Lakes Blvd.

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup

Boy, could you imagine the egg on our SA faces if the World Cup was to come to Australia and we weren't a part of it. Adelaide Oval and by extension AAMI Stadium are pathetic venues in which to watch soccer. You need a rectangular stadium. If Melbourne can build a new one for the Victory and NRL for...

Re: #PRO: Buckland Park Development

If people choose to live outside the boundries, then surely they cannot expect the government to prop up PT just for their sake. Many more PT priorities within the boundry that must be attended to first. Hence, the certainty of a car reliant community. Can you not see the nonsense in building 12,00...

They might not have any significant landmarks nearby but if they're surrounded by houses then that'll mean a busy station.

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)

Why yes, that's sort of what happened with AAMI Stadium. Not the fact that it is alive each and every day of the week  , no, no; but rather things like West Lakes Mall, lakeside restaurants and apartments followed. That was just AAMI Stadium, which has helped a new suburb's birth; what would ...

Re: Tiger Makes Adelaide its Second Home Base

I'll never make another booking with Tiger. We booked in advance a few trips to Melbourne to see the football last year - all of them had their flight times changed, to the point where a flight originally stated to leave at about 9am was shifted to 4pm. Not very useful, particularly when our return ...

Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News

That's not bad - that's actually quite an achievement! Never before have we had a direct air service to Fiji.

But surely Bangkok as a destination is overdue now - other capitals have two, three airlines offering direct flights there.

Re: YOUR solutions: How should we fix Glen Osmond Road?

i drove the full length of Glen Osmond Rd last week, and i must say it's the ugliest stretch of road in the eastern suburbs. Even if there's no justification to "fix it" from a transport perspective, surely there's enough justification to simply "pretty it up", esp since it's th...

Re: YOUR solutions: How should we fix Glen Osmond Road?

Carpooling, development of public transport infrastructure - most of the cars that come down every morning and go back up every evening have only one occupant. Can you imagine the difference if there were two people per car, halving the number of those single-occupant cars? Another idea that was loo...

Re: YOUR solutions: How should we fix Glen Osmond Road?

Honestly, i am dead set against turning Glen Osmond road into freeway. Building one directly above it is very different from turning it into one. I think building an expressway is a terrible idea - building one above Glen Osmond Road is probably even worse. What an awful disruption to the people li...
