[U/C] Re: Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)
An update on the restaurants opening up in the new cafe precinct. https://westfield.com.au/teatreeplaza/news/55Wymi1G1qIOg8EeEGmCc6/introducing-your-new-dining-lineup A little disappointed Westfield didn't take this opportunity to evict Caffe Primo. I can't see them being a good fit for the area. H...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
One wonders... what if this mess has been some what encouraged by the current state government, dissuade people from any further team extensions? interesting thought[emoji15]that's pretty Machiavellian, but after the shenanigans we've recently seen in Canberra, not much surprises me about our polli...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Please tell me this is a joke..... From Twitter. Its from Tom so no doubt its an exaggeration. Why would Tom Koutsantonis be commenting on how much longer it will take to open the extension? The technical problems are not now a political issue. The faults are being addressed by the suppliers, not t...

News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Didn't Abbott insist on only using infrastructure funds on new roads for basically his entire term? Abbott and many current politicians appear to have been fooled by the false productivity models used by proponents of big road projects. Models that have been eviscerated and exposed as false by new ...

Was that because it was more advantageous politically to divert that money to the flood devastated Queensland in 2011-ish?ChillyPhilly wrote:It was the newly elected Abbott Government who pulled complete funding for Gawler electrification in 2013 though.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Meanwhile no news from the new government as to when they're going to rip up the KWS/NT intersection again to install the right hand turn they promised during the election campaign. Good. Perhaps someone from DPTI is in the process of trying to explain to them what a stupid WOFTAM installing that t...

Re: News & Discussion: Buses
full government ownership ... a lot of efficiencies to be made I would never use those two in the same sentence. The problem I have with government ownership is that many in govt/DPTI have failed to realise tht you can't/shouldn't run PT like a business. Yes it should be run efficiently(ie not wast...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
I'm glad the $1.8b also contains money for the Gawler Line electrification. It sh*ts me to tears when govts claim to be pro transport and just spend 100% of their dough on roads. A balance is the only fair way to spend transport dollars.

Dashing Donnie D would turn in his grave if you named an expressway after him. He put the kibosh on the MATS plan remember. No, that was David Tonkin. Dunstan shelved it because at the time it was not wanted, needed, nor affordable. Tonkin killed it and sold off the land. given what we now know abo...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
It seems, hopefully, that the Libs aren't quite as anti-tram as I had suspected. It's a shame about the lack of metropolitan extensions but a North Adelaide line would be great for the area. Trams will get rolling along North Tce within weeks — but when they start turning right? THE tram extension ...
