[COM] Re: PRO: Rundle Street Upgrade

35K doesn't look completely crazy to me, if that includes design, fabrication and installation costs. In my experience people tend to instantly compare these things with something they’d wack up in their backyard over a weekend, but in reality all sorts of extra costs need to be factored into the eq...

I like it! It looked a bit clunky and gaudy in the earlier renders but these make it look quite slick.

[COM] Re: REJ: 377 - 379 King William St | 32m | 8 lvls | Apartmen

Surely more substantial and spectacular developments will become commonplace when there is more money floating around combined with greater vendor demand, not simply the act of lifting height restrictions. In the meantime this site may remain dormant for a very long time. I cant see what is so ‘out ...

Great pics thanks Urban! Not sure if it’s just the lack of curtains but the glass on this building looks a lot nicer than that of Tower 1. This is altogether a sexier building IMO

Sounds great. Bit by bit skyline and density are spreading south and west across the city

Re: Projects: Henley Beach/Grange

The concept ‘Village Feel’ is bandied about a lot these days, but what exactly is it? Is it about scale of buildings? If so, I’ve seen plenty of villages in Europe that have buildings the same scale as H2O and Baju, so what’s the problem with these? Perhaps it’s about a ‘Sense of Community’. But doe...

So 5 storeys at a town centre, beach location is too high?

Ludicrous

I hope it gets taken to court

[COM] Re: U/C: City Central 8 - Aust Tax Office | 72m 18lvls

I agree about the different forms and it is looking interesting so far. I'm a bit disappointed with the southern tower facade though. The renders gave the impression of all over glass but the floor sections appear to be aluminium panels which look like a cheaper alternative. However it could look r...

Difficult to make a proper call until it's close to complete but I've got to say the different forms, patterns and finishes in the facade are looking rather awesome. Looking forward to seeing the bracing too.

And thanks again for the great pics mate

Great to have some height in this part of the cbd which often has a deserted country town feel about it. Nice idea also to catch Altitide in the render to provide the DAP of a stark reminder of what they've approved virtually next door.

Wayno, totally agree about Council owning the plan and being able to change it. What I'm getting at is that there are a lot of suggestions that ACC should ignore the DP and allow greater height/density/whatever, when I'm sure that we would all be equally as jacked-off if they broke the rules and al...

Mmm I wonder if ‘good quality’ is a term that can be used to describe the shiny new car parks at 42 Franklin St or 102 Wakefield St, which Sandy had a say in approving? ‘Fit in with the area’ – well another bland box would certainly fit better with the character of the area than this design I agree,...
