Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Air New Zealand will add three weekly 787 flights to Auckland to the existing A320 services - surprising but pleasing announcement. I'm still hoping for direct flights to the South Island.

Who honestly fills all of these apartments? It's like Hong Kong, minus the people, economy or culture.

With a cloud over Coca Cola I can only imagine there's more on the way. Sadly I think the land is worth more than the bottling plant as a going concern.

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

Cyclists and pedestrians aren't allowed to be on freeways & motorways. Haven't you noticed the signs at the start of such roads that say they are prohibited to be on there? There's a separate path next to the Northern Expressway and there's a new 16km path proposed for the Connector. I imagine ...

Re: SA Liberals propose new road, airport, rail bypass

Most of the freight is going to the northern suburbs, where the time difference is much less. And speed restrictions for trucks on the freeway reduce the difference even more. I take your point on the freeway speed restrictions, but "much less" time when you compare Port Adelaide to the &...

Re: Adelaide Hills Freight Bypass

Two things - this is not a planned or costed project, it's a $20m business case study... and, rail line aside, this would be a road to nowhere. Google Maps estimates the journey from Murray Bridge to Port Adelaide via Truro is 204km or 2h21m. Murray Bridge to Port Adelaide via the SE Freeway is 90km...

Apparently this will house a five-star Langham hotel, so that's a good sign for the development.

Re: News & Discussion: Metropolitan Developments

Was browsing the DAC website in my spare time and noticed that there's a hungry jacks + petrol filling station proposed within Lightsview along Hampstead Road. The proposed petrol station will be very close to the recently completed Caltex on the corner of Hampstead/Folland Avenue. I couldn't find ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The renders look great. I'm sure this will increase congestion for cars along North Terrace, but drivers will eventually adjust their behaviour.

Do you think if the trams head out to Prospect or Magill we'll ever have Melbourne-style stops where cars have to wait for passengers to get on and off?

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

A proper Topshop would be awesome - I still maintain that the old Harris Scarfe tenancy in Rundle Mall Plaza would be perfect for a Topshop as they're generally not the biggest stores, with the exception of their flagship locations. Alternatively, combining the the Harris Scarfe and Spotlight tenan...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Jay was only able to entice them with an incentive package (taxpayer's money). He didn't do anything special by getting the deal done. There's been rumours of them coming into Adelaide for at least 3 years. It's been a slow process and China Southern even decided to fly to Christchurch before South...

Dumb question but is the idea that some apartments will face directly into those in the opposite building?

Any word on H&M or Uniqlo yet?

At least you can shop Uniqlo online - whereas H&M is prioritising stores in Wollongong and Toowomba :?

Re: Deregulation of Shop Trading Hours

Can someone please explain to me why some supermarkets close at 9pm and open at midnight?
Wouldn't it make more sense to trade until midnight and reopen at 6am?
