Re: Port Road ideas
The Idea of a canal sounds just awful, if any stupid government did build one it would probably look just as fugly as the one in Brussels
Having Ferry's in Adelaide would be awesome but our Torrens river is waaay to small, maybe little water taxis (that can also accept Adelaide Metro tickets) to get quickly from the zoo to the convention centre, something on that scale would be ok for the Torrens Lake

Ho Really wrote:The idea about a canal is not really a serious one, however it would be good for leisure activities more than anything to do with (fast) transport. We've mentioned wet lands, but could it be used as a reservoir if it was covered?
Cheers

Besides the fugly canal how cool is that building to the left painted with the tall ship. Maybe have a few of these up around the port painted by seriously good artists, not the crappy primary school versions you tend to see.

I know it looks bland, but its very European. And being European is classy. After all isn't this what this Goverments been trying to do in recent weeks, by becoming more 'European'?
Just to think, binge-drinking fashion-obsessed socialites catching ferries everywhere they go.

And spirits and liqueurs.mattblack wrote:Europe is pretty cool though, you can by wine in the supeermarket!
As for Port Road, I had the opportunity to go for a walk around Hindmarsh on Sunday. The grassed area would be wide enough for a canal no problem, but as AG explained you'd need locks somewhere along the route if you wanted boats to come up from Port Adelaide.

Any way, getting back on to the toppic, I dont think canals would work. Sure there is probably enough room for one but I think that the whole project would be unneccessary and just not very practicle.Pat28 wrote:And they're all a bunch of pisspotsAtD wrote:You can do that in the ACT.
