If you look at each Capital City they have a tall landmark ( within 17km of cbd for sake of argument ) that allows you to see all the city and surrounding areas with an uninterrupted view.
Our tall landmark is Mount Lofty and you cannot see all the surrounding areas because it is tree bound. From a my point of view I feel we have short changed the tourist, visitor and Adelaide itself with the current setup.
The best investment we could make is to build a fantastic building on Mt Lofty raised above the treeline that would allow you to see 360 degrees of Adelaide Plains, Coastline and Hills Countryside taking it all in as one panorama that will give the tourist and visitor alike a more spectacular experience.
Mount Lofty Lookout
Re: Mount Lofty Lookout
Linked by a gondola to Morialta falls or Glen Osmond. Now that would be a tourist drawcard. We could then promote hiking and mountain biking in the hills a whole lot more, maybe we could bid for a round of mountain bike the world cup to complement the tour down under and the BMX world cup round we have. Showcase one of Adelaides best features instead of making it nigh on impossible for the average tourist without a car.
