Who honestly fills all of these apartments? It's like Hong Kong, minus the people, economy or culture.

It's one of the fastest growing regions of Australia, unlike Adelaide.

Some nice looking towers. The Irukandji jellyfish are keen on the apartments, have seen a few studies suggesting their migration patterns are taking them further south. Would be a disaster if they were to make it down to the GC.

Yes, I agree on some of the comments made. Does the developer have the target audience in mind already? Does building a whole structure that tall bring about positive benefits or is it just stagnant idea that has not yet been explored. If the demand for rooms over at that area is relatively high or inadequate as of this current moment, then this development project will indeed be a blast. However, if it is otherwise, then it might just be a waste of resources.

I was in the GC last week. The amount of development is crazy. Everywhere I went along the whole coast was construction sites.
The tram is being extended south.
Within Surfers there was one area where there were 3 buildings going up within meters of each other.
Then there were 3 or 4 vacant lots advertising off the plan apartments for huge new high rises.

A RECORD number of cranes are towering above the Gold Coast’s skyline as the legacy of the pandemic development boom continues to unfurl.
More than 56 cranes stood above the city’s skyline during the first quarter of 2023, an increase of four on the final months of 2022.

Before the Covid development boom the city tended to average between 35 and 40 cranes at any one time.

The Gold Coast was among a handful of cities to see an uptick in development activity while Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Brisbane all fell.
