Horse Trials in Vic Park using restored Grand Stand

Good to see the restored grandstand in Vic Park getting some use...
FOR the first time this year the HSBC Adelaide four-star class will become part of the FEI HSBC Classics series.
The who's who of Australian and New Zealand eventing will converge on Adelaide chasing more than $100,000 in prizemoney for the HSBC Adelaide four-star class. Great entries are also arriving for supporting events, the Logan Floats CIC two-star and the Bates Saddles CCI two-star.
"Once again we will be running the Horseland CCI two-star Young Rider Championship (within the Bates CCI two-star Class) and the Equestrian Australia YR State Teams' event across the Logan Floats CIC two-star and Bates Saddles CCI two-star classes," said event director, former Olympic eventing gold medallist Gillian Rolton.
"Western Australia was victorious last year and has entered two teams. Can any other state come up with the winning formula to knock WA off their pedestal?"
The 2011-12 series, from November 17-20, will be televised worldwide and includes the CCI four-star classes at Pau, France, Lexington, Kentucky in the US, Luhmhulen, Germany, and Badminton and Burghley UK, as well as Adelaide.
Also for the first time, the heart of the event will be in front of the newly renovated Heritage Grandstand on the 125m x 90m turfed and irrigated Prime Field.
The cross-country and showjumping will be broadcast live, worldwide through FEI TV.
Associated events include the FEI officials seminar, with participants coming from the US, Canada, Italy, New Zealand and Australia.
Also coming this year is the French horseman team, so popular at this year's Melbourne three-day event and UK commentator extraordinaire, Ed Holloway.
