What do you guys think of the new RoofClimb bridge? Here is an image I stole from Channel 7.

You can also see some of the work on the new deck on the roof of the Riverbank stand here

I noticed that riding past this morning. Personally, I would have painted it black or grey so that it visually would look just like a piece of service equipment (and thus mentally you tend to ignore it).

Saw all about this on Ch.9 news this morning in Bris. They were based in Henley Sq. Ch 9 did not give a skyline shot of the city from the rooftop however. Lots of kudos for Adelaide in the Ch.9 session this morning including, 'vibrant city'. The old negativism seems to be disappearing in the media.

'What bridge?'
Our state, our city, our future.

Perhaps. But it's more so because they were in Adelaide, they want people to turn up = publicity = more viewers, and they are hardly going to bag the place they are visiting which will cost them viewers.
They could have done a live cross from Bordertown and they'd be saying good things.

Rev, I've heard many positive accounts outside the media as well - hence my comments. I find it encouraging. Always got 'an ear to the ground' re perceptions of Adelaide over here in Bris.

The Project TV show has been telecasting all week from the William Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval. While somewhat cringe-worthy at times, it's still been good to see Adelaide promoted nationally aswell as the positive changes in recent times.

The only downside is the beautiful city backdrop is blocked by towering gum trees, it also highlights the age of Memorial Drive. It needs to go.

Can't work out how to embed a Tweet but here is a great little moment from The Project on Channel 10 about the Oval.

FFA would keep the gate for any finals matches anyway, so Adelaide United would get little, if any, financial advantage playing at Adelaide Oval.

Also, it's already been proven Adelaide Oval does not pull big crowds to the soccer anymore (besides the first game against Melbourne Victory, where people came, saw, and opted not to return).
Correct about the FFA getting the gate takings. They do so for all finals matches.

Adelaide Oval offers absolutely zero advantage to United. By all means, have the Grand Final there, but no more.

Also your statement about how United supposedly 'does not pull big crowds' anymore is inaccurate. United pulled close to 13k to their last home game. In addition, Adelaide Oval is just a poor choice of stadium for football and people have voted with their feet.
Where did I say Adelaide United doesn't pull big crowds anymore? I said 'Adelaide Oval does not pull big crowds to the soccer anymore', very different to your claim I said 'United does not pull big crowds'

Ah, I'm home soon for a couple of weeks and have booked in too.

Slightly terrified after seeing the Channel 7 clip. GULP.

I think it's great that they are trying to get the AFL to approve of it being a feature for game days/nights.
Imagine being up there on the viewing platform on the riverbank stand roof watching.
