While we think of new polls... here's the results from the current one.

Pretty surprising I must say! Half of us have migrated to Adelaide.. nice work!

I think we should have a poll on...

The preference for upgrading the bus, tram or the train system first?

Return of the Adelaide CBD to the City Council, State Goverment or an Independent Authority?

Sustainable population target for Adelaide in 2050, with default bands, eg: Current 1-1.2, 1.2-1.5m, 1.5m-2.0m, 2.0m+

Advocating various type of developments - eg: continued focus on low-density, urban sprawl, concentration on medium density urban hubs (eg: Glenelg, Mawson Lakes), or focus on a high-density city centre?

I think the heat's been turned up a notch for Rann. I'd like to see a response to those 6 points also.

I've never been satisfactorily convinced that the Marj should be on the railyards site - especially given the time of the marj announcements there was already a good momentum from the south australian public and our very own forum as to what could be built on arguably the best piece of untapped city real estate. If anyone caught that article based around the comments by Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett on the weekend about creating a vision for 2050 for South Australia - you can get a better understanding as to why we need something of state and global significant built there. And not a hospital (although I do agree with a rebuilding of the current RAH).

Perhaps we should run a front page poll? Someone want to help me out with the wording of the poll question/answers?

How about the following for a poll?

Where should new hospital facilities be built?

* Rebuild on the RAH site
* Build on the Railyards
* Build elsewhere (e.g. Keswick Barracks) as Railyards is valuable civic land
* No need to build at all, current facilities are ok

Considering everyone's in the dark about almost every aspect of this situation, why not?

Do you think that Rann should open up the circumstances about the decision to build the Marj on the railyards site?

hey howie, can polls be made private? that is, for registered S-A members only? not sure this always make sense - just interested in the feasibility at this time.

If you want just SA members to be able to participate in the poll simply create it in the forum. At the moment there's no way to restrict it to forum members on the front page.

The front page poll results are interesting (1276 votes so far)

Where should new hospital facilities be built?

* 49.5% - No need to build at all, current facilities are ok
* 19.4% - Build elsewhere as Railyards is valuable civic land
* 17.2% - Rebuild on the Railyards
* 14.0% - Rebuild on the RAH site

Hmmm, half the population don't want a rebuild, and it's a standoff between using the railyards or not...
