This website is here for all of us to use and we are here to voice the concerns of the South Australian public. How can we go about getting possible funding from the Gov?

What are your thoughts on this?

Joshzxzx, I am happy to donate to this great site to keep it working well. I do however think it is more important for government read/used it than funded it.
Maybe good if they could do both

I should add local government to that as well!

Will be donating once I get paid.

Howie: Just a suggestion you should make it clear how long the "donating member" badge lasts for. Make it expire after 1 year or 2 years etc rather than last until infinity. If people want it again, they can donate again

If the government funds this website, then opinions may be self-censored. i.e. people will not want to piss-off who pays the bills.

I'm thinking we could seek fundings, benefits of S-A include:

• * Encouraging community discussion and participation
  * Represent a broad demographic (people aged 13-60+)
  * Educating S-A members on many aspects of South Australia, past and present (there are truly many S-A members with incredible levels of knowledge, and together we are a virtual library of knowledge!)
  * We are not for profit, so essentially a volunteer organisation
  * We bring together locals, expats, and those generally interested in SA. This includes socially isolated individuals who otherwise would have trouble keeping up with recent activities and events
  * A couple of S-A members insist on improving our grammar presumably this is an advantage!
  * We assist the SA Govt and ACC by collaborating and compiling topical submission documents/letters
  * Etc...

Hi guys just updated the opening post again.

Many thanks to everyone the reception has been phenomenal! We're nearly past the 1 year hosting mark... once we get over that line i'll notify our data center of our intention to move. Aiming to secure 2 years of hosting .. and at this rate I don't think it'll be long before we'll get there.
