Re: Cars!!!
Like Norman, I don't drive. Instead however, we have a 1990 Holden Barina and boy has it had a hard run! Whyalla 6 times, Serviceton 3 times, Melbourne 1 time and many other shorter hauls. Today, if we do take it on a long haul run, we HAVE to give it a service.
I am currently in training for a Cert. 1 in Automotive which means I can service a car and that may be crucial to keping that damn car running! Earlier this year, a seal in the automatic gear box gave way and everything drained out of it in a car park. The engine also has a habit of 'running on'. Basically, when you shut it down, one cylinder keeps on firing briefly so the car shakes around a bit. Probably need to remove some carbon from a spark plug and check the firing order.

Re: Cars!!!
I drive a 1999 HSV VT XU6 which i bought brand new in 1999. I was in my mid 20's then (if i had my time again i probably wouldn't have bought it).
Its a supercharged V6 pumping out 180Kw or about 240 BHP.
I keep it serviced and tuned to perfection, im getting about 950Km per full tank country driving. Which means i get to Adelaide from Melbourne on one tank and have a fair bit left over! I get about 600km city driving (but thats often under hard acceleration and braking)
The missus drives a mazda 6 sport/luxury edition (gutless but has all the mod cons). That isnt that good on the fuel, i would have expected a lot more from mazda..
We will most probably get rid of the Holden at some point as the mazda is only 2 years old.

.
My latest is an Nissan R34 GTT (factory 206kw), been spending a bit of time/money massaging the motor, it's now pulling closer to 300kw @ 14psi. Daily driver, so i usually don't drive it hard on the streets and it returns me about 350-400km on a tank After next year hopefully, new turbo, new injectors, new front mount, some weight reduction.

cruise,
standard 75 litre tank. Its a bit of a freak build. I in 2002 i had it mechanically checked out to see how much wear and tear i had induced on the motor with my hard accelerating and braking style.
The Technician reported that piston 6 had 2% wear and tear above and beyond what was expected and the rest of the pistons had none. This car wasnt assembled on the graveyard shift!
As for the economy of the tank its 950kms country driving, city driving doesnt come close to that mark (but still pretty good) A lot of people question me on it (good fuel economy) and until they have got in the car wth me on a country trip they dont believe it!

Its pretty good to drive, Ive changed the suspension to get some more grip other than that the car is stock standard...Everyone that has driven my car has enjoyed it!
Now the R34 GTT is a nice car, i almost bought an R32 Godzilla (or was it an R33 can't remember exactly) it was a fully modified car with a lot of power at the fly...I saw myself wrapped around a stobie so i didnt buy it...
Enjoy the thrills of the R34 Howie, I'm truly envious!!!

Re: Cars!!!
Got meself a 2000 model IS200. Absolutely love the car, sunroof, mags, leather and many other options, looks like sex when its washed (which is like once every 2 months), bit of a headturner, cause its a lot better than many of the 'stock standard' IS200's you see. The day i got it though some idiot in a truck side swiped 12k worth of damage. Never been so angry in my life. Lookin to upgrade to an M3 or a 330ci pretty soon though, money permitting of course!!! cheers.

No cage for me. I ride a 2006 Triumph Sprint ST. 1050cc, 123hp. Not the fastest out there, but 0-100 in under four seconds is still quicker than I can shit my pants
