Light's letter on display
28dec05
A LETTER written in 1836 by Adelaide founder Colonel William Light was yesterday publicly unveiled at the State Library.
Written to friend George Jones, it includes a sketch map of the future site of Adelaide and was written the day after Colonel Light completed an exploration of parts of the Port River.
The letter - and two other letters written by Colonel Light's friends - were bought for about $150,000 in May and will be on display until January 26.

This was taken from the Advertiser - should be interesting to see what Light was imagining when he drew the sketch of a future city. Not many people can claim to have designed the layout of a whole city (no smarty SimCity jokes).
