I went on the roller coaster a few times. I think I was in year 7 or 8 at school, and when it opened there were line ups for what seemed hours. The roller coaster was Ok, it only get some decent speed on the last little section, but it was cool when it went around the corners on its side caus you looked straight down the central atrium, all the way to the terrace basement and you thought you may slide out of the seat. In those days there were no sails or barriers anywhere. From the ground level you could always hear it rolling around

Yikes! That rollercoaster was not for vertigo sufferers...
The track 'support clamps' may be the remaining parts of the rollercoaster.
Was the station platform removed too?

What year were they taken away? And what year did it actually close?
Dazzeland is up there with the Restaurant Tram for me - always got promised we would go on that too but then that shut down as well. Only good thing is, the Resturant Tram (H type 378) can still be seen at the tram museum.
Also, talking about Magic Mountain paying things - what happened to all of Magic Mountains attractions when that closed? Eg. the merry- go- round etc.
the original merry-go-round is still in the beach house
also if you take a walk down the esplanade (well the foreshore) south of moseley square you can see many of the ornaments from the put-put course in someones front yard, including the giant shark head.
as far as i'm aware, pinball machines, etc, were sold/auctioned to private buyers.

If anyone has some photos of Dazzleland to share, please let me know! They're hard to find around cyberspace.

I had a look up there a few years ago (4-5) before fernwood moved in on the bottom level of it, basically all that was left was about 6 arcade Cabinet machines in the old arcade.
Didn't have the courage to go up the top where the coaster n ghost train was.

Were they sold to other places?

It was a token for the games in Dazzeland. The reverse side just says "1 Ride Token, No Cash Value"

IIRC Magic Mountain had similar tokens. I think I've still got one around here somewhere.

The rollercoaster at Dazzleland was falling apart the supports were coming away from the walls of the Myer Centre if they had kept it opened any longer there would of being a risk of either serious injury or death. The owner of Dazzleland was obviously doing a dodgy job as it was never repaired, in opinion they just wanted to make a quick buck. In fact it was never taken down untill a few years ago, i wonder who end up footing the bill the owner of Myer Centre or the owner of Dazzleland. No way would i ever let them build a theme park in Adelaide ever again or anywhere for that matter.
Do yourself a favour and come to South Australia.
