A new member by the name of Opacic has been doing some modeling of Adelaide buildings recently which are really good, and need to be rated if you want them to be viewed in Google Earth.

Opacic has been doing some excellent work lately, though he's a little bit shy about posting here though me thinks :)

i just rated several more Adelaide buildings. Unfortunately most only have 1-3 ratings. Guys please help by going here and giving 5stars to many buildings ==> http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... ide&styp=m

Is it just me, or does anyone else get really pissed off at the fact that Google inducted a 5-year old's model of the Convention Centre into the Google Earth 3D buildings view. It's just so... lego.

Google Earth has updated with high-res images of Adelaide, including the cbd.

That's hilarious! Obviously the poor bugger had a big night and lost his way home.

All I see is "This image is no longer available." Didn't happen to do a screen-grab, did you?

From further up the street, where the images aren't blocked. You can still see him passed out on the sidewalk.

That reminds me, I remember the ACC wanting to establish a city model for development purposes, shadowing, heights, etc. Is this what you'll be involved in?
Wait a few weeks until we've got something decent to show you, and you should have a better idea then of where we hope to go. Sorry mum's the word for now. But every other city (council) in Australia will be soooo jealous of us :)
What's happening with this so far Howie? You mentioned this in June 2008; it's now, March 2009!

I only ask because I'm really keen to see how it's turned out, and perhaps take examples from this to render together a "development plan" to submit to the ACC for consideration.

Anybody else annoyed with the lack of updates for Google Maps??
I mean, it's a big job, but the Adelaide they have there now is TERRIBLE!! Everything's just so brown, the photos must have been taken in late February.

Also, the StreetView is BADLY out of date.
For example, just in Hindmarsh Square, there's the Conservatory on Hindmarsh:
Image
Aurora on Pirie:

& the 20HS complex that haven't even started construction. Not to mention the King William Street buildings, the Hindley St. student accomodation building & a bunch of mid-level buildings which apparently don't exist.

Must look poor for investors looking to see where their purchases are.
