Potentially the best news out of the election could be Rachel Sanderson losing the seat of Adelaide. If it happens it will be such a positive for the future of the city. I have seen her in person at an East End meeting, and she does nothing but complain and use her friends to derail meetings held by Renewal SA.
Hope this comes true!

Agree
As for shopping hours most shops are empty as it is now. This will just mean they will be empty longer. It will put more money in the hands of the big operators at the expense of the small business they purport to champion. I have been in retail 27 years . It's a furphy.

Deregulation of trading hours isn't good for the convenience stores in the city who are probably already struggling but still this is a minority group.
For the majority of people the convenience of shopping on a Saturday or sunday night is a good thing. As crawf has pointed out we're not living
in the 1980's anymore.
They can do that already
No little shop will open only the big stores as I have already stated

Mate, with any policy there's always going to be winners and losers.
This move could be the catalyst for new supermarkets to open in the city, which would be
a good thing.

Just goes to show how people have not thought this through
It's not about supermarkets in the city of which there are already at least five or six and the door is already open if someone wants to open number six or seven and good luck by the way
It's all about lowering wages as you will come to see in the following years and will be confirmed when malinauskas takes leadership

Looks like Rachel has retained the seat of Adelaide, much to my disappointment.

I think people are being incredibly harsh on the Libs.

They aren't the Libs from 20 years ago.

Has anyone bothered to look at some of the candidates?

They have some impressive young and soon to be MPs who would all have been heavily invested in the polcies.

They arent going to all of a sudden turn into these old anti everything cronies you are expecting.
Matt Cowdrey is the only one I can think of off the top of my head who is 'young and fresh'. Even Marshall looks tired now.

We will see how this plays out.

I wouldn't be surprised though if Vicki Chapman does an about face halfway through the term and challenges Marshall for the Premiership, particularly if he polls poorly. She won't be satisfied being Deputy and will go for the jugular when it's politically convenient for her. Personal ego and factional rivalries still run deep in the Liberal Party.
Yeah I've heard that heaps for Labor party people.

Fact is Vikki is closer to retirement than a leadership challenge.

Happy to see Sanderson win.

Must be doing something right to win again.

think the best part about the Libs winning is the butt hurt Labor fanboiz like this.
Let's see how long before the shine wares off and they're found out
Sums up the liberal mentality using childish social media memes like butt hurt and fan boiz instead of any meaningful argument
You have no idea and it will show eventually just conservative rhetoric

Would not the best thing about winning be the opportunity to implement your ideas and repay the faith

I'm not a pollie. So for me watching people like you have a melt down is enjoyable.

Lets face it, your posting here is completely childish.

And memes are funny.

She got my vote, but that's probably no real secret.

Interesting that Adelaide seems to be a safe Lib seat on a state level, but an even safer seat for the ALP at federal level.

I'm sorry, I can't agree with that. When RenewalSA's John Hanlon was talking to the East End Association about the ORAH she came along with a few of her friends/associates. Time and time again they started hammering him with questions and comments about the NRAH's opening date (it wasn't open at the time).

Completely inappropriate. Ask him questions about how the development will affect the city, be critical about what he is saying. Don't try to mash petty politics into the discussion.

Then there was the whole Adelaide Oval saga, Riverbank development and so on. She is a representative of NIMBYs and petty politics, no more.

At this stage, 2PP is still 50.2 - 49.8. There is still hope.
