I think he'll be a good opposition leader and put more pressure on labor than Evans did, which I think will get more out of the government for the good of the state. Ian Evans didn't really push the government much... he would make a point, but never follow up on it, which didnt really pressure the government.
Hopefully he doesnt have opposition to more of labors good infrastructure plans which are modernising and brining the state up top date to where it should be such as the tram line extention.

That's what he wants you to think. I bet it's all part of some SAS mind game.

This probably doesnt belong in this thread, but dont know where else to put it. Article in city messenger about Mark Brindal wanting to run for lord mayor. If voted in his primary goals are to revamp the torrens (with bars, cafes etc. Revamp vic square to make it centre of Adelaide again. Large focus on traffic congestion in the city, and water conservation, as well as making our city even more of an education hub.
Sorry couldn't be bothered typing the whole article, but that was the general gist of the article... Sounds quite good actually, would love to see all those things happen, but not gonna get my hopes up at all...

Whats his record look like?
Pro-development? Dictatorial? Conservative? Idiot?

His ideas may sound great, but I'm more concerned about his overall approach to the position...

Hes the guy who had a affair with a guy.

Some very good ideas, but ill believe it when i see it. Though I think habro is now looking at those ideas.

Btw can people outside the ACC vote for a lord mayor?

No.

Thats the sad thing about this state. The 17,000 people in the ACC electorate can hold the entire state to ransom by selecting the Lord Mayor representative. Seeing as most of those residents are North Adelaide elitists, and retired conservative NIMBYS - they'll always vote for someone whos keeping the backwards image of Adelaide in their best interests. Thats why the goverments 'out to get' Anne Moran - simply because she fits this profile well, and will create further barriers development-wise.

The ACC is responsible for some of the most crucial development aspects of Adelaide, and I think its fair that the council be elected by the Adelaide metropolitian population as a representative of the whole city and not 17,000 people.

No offence, but do you think Parliament would really allow a gay person to lead a party?

Don Dunstan was flaming, but he wasn't on fire until he left.

That said, John Ceruto got a taste of Dunstan while he was in office.
