The crane at St Andrew's Hospital was completed sometime between Monday and Wednesday this week as shown in Picture. It is quite large and easily covers the entire site. Picture taken from further down St John St (north of site).

I've never bothered to trawl through the 75 pages of this thread, but is 18 cranes a record for Adelaide?

Did we have more in say 2012/2013 when the hospital and Adelaide Oval were under construction? What about during the 1970s/80s, when a lot of our skyline was built? Even then, I doubt we would have 18 up at once.

If I recall correctly, the 18 cranes back in 12/13 was a record for the CBD itself. We didn't count metro cranes at the time.

This is true however at the time there were 6 at the RAH and 4 at Adelaide Oval, so you could say this is by far the most as nearly all CBD are private investments now.

Although there were 8 cranes at the new RAH and 4 at the Adelaide oval these were not all at the same time.
In may 2013 one Adelaide oval crane had already come down and the 8 th crane At the RAH had not yet being erected.

The second Calvery crane is 1/2 up as at 5pm Friday10/2/17. this week has been too hot. it may be completed over the weekend weather permitting.

The second crane at Calvery was completed today using crane1 to assemble it.

Back to 17 cranes as the crane at 111 113 South Tce came down today (Sat 25 Feb 2017) as predicted by Ben.

The eastern crane at the UniSA site on North Tce has begun to come down.

1 Uni SA crane is coming down and Central Adelaide to come down tomorrow. Back down to 9 CBD cranes. No new ones expected for a couple of months but should be a few going up all at once around May/June.
