Do you honestly believe the developer would come out and say they are changing the design to save costs??? Surely it is a lot easier and face saving to blame it on the wind but why now? If it's cost cutting then I wish it to be the new standard for cost cutting. 223 north terrace around the corner, they just decided at the last second not to attach the bloody facade and just painted the concrete poo brown to match the john martins car park. That's cost cutting.

It might only be recently-announced, but presumably the new design has been around for a while - the "new" render does not have tramlines or the Urbanest building.

They likely just opened up an existing file, edited it to remove those gold pieces, rendered it, and released the image.

100% agree with this. Adding tram lines to the render would be a waste of time as it wouldn't be used for advertising material.

To my untrained eye, all I can see is that somebody removed some of the triangles. I can only see one person who might be slightly offended by this...

I hung around this one like a blowfly at 11:40 today. Lots of noise coming from inside the construction and when I move to in front of the main entrance I saw a bunch of workers taking down the scaffolding. The photo is good enough that you can download it and zoom in and you can see the workers removing it. Also off on the left side are concrete stairs and walkway, this is about 1/2 the height of the heritage facade that it is behind. The long distance shot was taken from a similar place to the last time I took photos so you can see the rear. This was from the level 6 of car.

I was talking to a guy who is operating the concrete pump on the core, he was saying another pour will start later this week.
