Just because I have had a skeptical view of the timeline for this build (2018) which has been proven to be more than correct, doesn't mean that my post is offensive. It appears that some of the Mods don't like being challenged.

Pikey is one of the better, more reasonable, level headed mods here. I'd give him the benefit of doubt before jumping to conclusions.

Interesting range of buildings they have.
Grand Park Wuxi reminds me of a casino in Vegas.
If this one gets up, I think it'll be the tallest in their portfolio.

If you look at the context, they have 3 different countries they want to expand by 2019, South Korea first, then, Malaysia and Australia. Logistically, that would be possible but understandably challenging. When I stayed in Xi’an last year, we often drove through a district where a Park Hotel Group hotel was under construction in. In fact, the whole district was being completely knocked down and redone (as China does). That hotel is complete now (I emailed them to find out) but it shows that they have a history of good development and they invest in places they see potential in.

At the same time, I do wonder if it’s more appropriate for this to be considered a [VIS] and not a [PRO] as it’s been a lot of talk but no official proposal yet.

This project is still very much alive. However, I am reasonably certain height will be limited to no greater than 136m (RTCC limit).

Not really. The set heights are there so that ATC and pilots can navigate within known limits. For different types of operations and purposes the heights are different, and can be broken within guidelines or must be strictly adhered to for different reasons. If you wanted to add another metric then it would just be derived from checking the lowest of all three and would be much more rigid than the current regulations.

They're local implementations of international regs. Very much important as they are for different things - OLS is relevant when flying visually, PANS-OPS when relying on radar (i.e. bad weather).

RTCC is currently the real limit on development in most of the eastern half of the CBD. Until it's lifted, nothing will be built taller than the antennae on Westpac. This is why Realm and Adelaidean are being built to this height.

RTCC in Adelaide has been set arbitrarily to match the tallest obstacle and doesn't have a specific operational or safety basis. It exists in other Australian cities, but not in the rest of the world, as far as I'm aware. PANS-OPS and OLS have real operational basis and are consistent with international operations.
