It's anyone's guess who you vote for... They didn't have to build it that way, after all, they call have invested the money they ended up wasting on the National Wine Centre on the Southern Expressway. Furthermore, considering how much of our states assets they either sold off or leased out, it's not as if they didn't have any money to dice with.

Also, John Bannon was cleared of any wrongdoing regarding the State Bank collapse, might want to look that up.

APA today commenced gas line works on Bank Street ahead of the full upgrade. A number of parklets have now been removed.

Indeed, I noticed the eastern string of parklets have been removed.

Looking forward to the full upgrade.

Good riddance, they will not be missed.

Perhaps they would be successful in another part of the city, though all have done on Bank Street is attract litter and all sorts of interesting characters. The whole street looks so run down and even worse before the so called "makeover".

And good riddance!

Walked past these during the day recently and it was covered in piles of cigarette butts, rubbish and dirt. Truly disgusting, and not the best of impressions for visitors to our fine city.

I'm hoping this major revamp entices investment along Bank Street. That hotel in particular needs some serious TLC or a bomb.

Apparently they charge by the hour as well...if that's your thing...
*Looks at Dyson Airblade Factory* "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure"

Work on Topham Mall is well underway as part of the Market to Riverbank Link project. Looks as though services and utilities are being shifted or upgraded. Signage on fences around the work show it is for the upgrade project.

There was one of those golden shovel launches today in Bank Street, so hopefully proper construction will start now. Rau and Haese were in attendance.

Heard Haese on the TV news, P*sses me off that they're still pandering to the car lobby. Its a pedestrian prioritized laneway you clowns. Only let a car/truck or two in for deliveries and then put the bollards in! Allowing cars in there makes it more of a lame-way than a lane way:(

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.
