Oyster Bar at City Cross is changing over to 'SaWaaDee Ka Cafe' which will be selling Thai food.

I really liked their seafood.
The Typical Thing in City Cross these days is that small businesses are constantly coming & going month after month!
Any Bright Idea and then it fails instantly.

Yeah there were some good food joints there once.

But CityCross is owned by Makris Group so I’m not surprised by the high churn rate.

There's quite a lot of food courts in the city these days, probably too many given the turnover rate
of tenants. Chinatown plaza still hasn't opened, I assume it's because they can't find the tenants.

There were a lot. Two have been closed recently. And as you point out, the refurbished china town one has failed to reopen.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

Frankly, I find their management leaves everything to be desired.
It's high time they should unstick themselves from the TV and do their homework whether they need to or not.

City Cross now has an art showcase called 'Hiive' in the former Billy Baxter's.

So that pretty much confirms that Rundle Mall Plaza redevelopment is Zara, it's a shame that it's not H&m.

I wonder why this is the case.

They have also recently opened up in Rockhampton. A rural city of less than 100 000 people.

I wouldn't write it off just yet - the Hobart announcement was made with a maximum 5 month lead time based on the '1st half of this year timeframe'. As RMP is due for completion in the second half of this year so may not be due to be announced for a few months yet...

The first announcement was a year ago, but only today confirmed by H & M.

Work has been slow going on RMP. Nothing visible has changed since OPSM opened in November. Hopefully lots behind the hoarding.

Except the sculpture has been taken down (although they left the feet...).
