The H&M external cladding is a million times better than the current boring drab garbage.
*Looks at Dyson Airblade Factory* "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure"

So some cheap stainless steel cladding looks a million times better than marble? You won't be saying that in 25 years when they're having to replace it all...

The new Telstra shop in Rundle Mall (the old BankSA) is almost ready for opening, the store has been entirely fit out and the front facade has had a minor facelift. Begs the question as to whether they will close their City X shopfront...

Another question.. is what is going to happen to the Rebel Sports store (ex Amart Sports) above?, considering there is already one opposite at the Myer Centre.

I think the broader question should be, does anyone know whether Makris finalised the sale of City X? I feel as though with the lack of effort applied into filling tenancies and keeping a level of variety in the centre should mean something in the way of redevelopment but nothing seems to have been reported on since Makris put the centre up for sale... I suspect that Rebel have stayed in there because they're being offer cheap as piss rent.

I also suspect based on some comments made early on in the planning of the RMP redevelopment that Rebel might have been looking to amalgamate their two shopfronts into RMP either on the opposite side of the centre to H&M or potentially where H&M are going now. Unfortunately I think we're only attune to half of the full picture with regards to this kind of stuff.

As far as i'm aware no sale eventuated. It is also still listed on their website. A lot of food tenancies have vacated because of the expensive rent. I would think Rebel will move/close when their lease is up.

When I went past yesterday they had signs in the window saying they were moving.

Incidentally, I also noticed that the doors to the upstairs tenancy in Regent Arcade were open around 6pm yesterday, is anyone aware of anything happening with that?

The white cladding they have used on the Pacific Fair store front on the Gold Coast is great. If only they were to use it here.
What's to say they won't use the same cladding here.

The render doesn’t look the same. But you’re right they totally could.

Former Bull & Bear/Jack Ruby on 89 King William St is now up for lease.
Interestingly enough, Jack Ruby originally opened in 2013 which marked the 50-Year Anniversary of President Kennedy's Assassination!

What the hell does the opening of Jack Ruby have anything to do with Kennedy's assassination?!

This is even more random than some of HiTouch's outbursts.

The New Telstra store opened today. The former one was being gutted. Maybe it has been leased already?

Jack Ruby was the murderer of Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK's alleged assassin.

Allegedly.

There's no proof.

Just to clarify, Jack Ruby shot/killed Lee Harvey Oswald on live TV. So that is fact. But yes it’s not proven if Lee Harvey Oswald shot/killed JFK.
