Apart from Quest taking the accommodation component of this project, does anyone know who will be leasing the commercial floors in this building? Have they been announced as yet?

Apears it's a new Adelaide tradition to instal a strip of Neon lights. this photo taken Saturday shows both Rowlands and 70 Franklin Street with their neons. There is also Aurora and Atitude that have neons.

I noticed the white strip at the top of 70 Franklin Street a few weeks ago during the day and thought it may be a lighting feature. Thanks for the pics Ben.

Also noticed the other night during a 7 news update it appeared that Westpac had a new lighting feature on the top plant roof area. The upper most part of the building (plant room?) which is angled appeared to be brightly lit. Almost creating a 'crown' look. I could have been imagining things as I haven't seen it myself, has anyone else noticed this feature?

The trend towards lighting our buildings more during the night is a good one. Adelaide needs this to make the CBD stand out more.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and it was quite nice. A few design issues such as the bathroom door blocking access to the toilet when in the bathroom but otherwise pretty nice. Staff were very enthusiastic. Would be great for a few more cafes in the area now there are these new guest, mostly for business and the adjourning office workers.

took this to show the impact on the sky line of the two new buildings in the centre, really creates a "wall" of height.

Quest unveils further SA expansion
September 5, 2013

Expanding apartment firm, Quest Serviced Apartments, will build a further two properties in Adelaide in a move that will take its number of South Australian properties to 10.

Chairman Paul Constantinou unveiled the plan in the SA capital yesterday as he formally opened the group’s newest property, Quest on Franklin.

He said the business was on track to open its King William South property in Adelaide next April and revealed two more apartment blocks will be constructed in the city, one in Port Adelaide and another in the CBD.

They are both expected to have more than 100 rooms and will open in 2015.

Constantinou said a growth in mining, manufacturing and aviation has seen Adelaide flourish as a commercial and business tourism city.

“Naturally this activity has stimulated demand for quality business traveller accommodation and why Quest has seen potential for business growth in this thriving state,” he said.

When the new-builds are complete, Quest will offer 670 rooms in the state, which represents growth of 300% since May last year.
