More info on the press release
The partners are set to lodge for development approval in February 2019 and commence their commercial
pre-leasing campaign for the office component. The Joint Venture is currently in advanced negotiations with
its first anchor tenant who is keen to support this exciting new vision. Construction is likely to commence by
the end of 2019 following securing of sufficient pre-commitments for the office component and funding.

This proposal will add some much needed height to this end of Currie Street, along with the Sofitel development and a refurbished Allianz house.

The eventual redevelopment of the old metro info centre should be a 50 storey

Looks good, great to see another hotel interested in Adelaide. My only concern with this is if the Western side is a massive concrete wall :(

The arches are nice touch to the podium but nothing exciting about yet another box tower design. That said, Currie Street needs the investment, and it'd be great to see another development finally get going (it feels like, for all the proposals in the last 2 years, very few have or are likely to).
Building design aside, the QT brand is a very exciting addition to the Adelaide hotel scene. The recently completed QT in Perth is also a very unremarkable building, but the interior is top notch, and the rooftop bar and restaurant is great. This will be great for this part of the city.
As plain as the external appearance of QT Adelaide is, I would argue that it looks better than QT Perth. Love the rooftop bar on the Perth hotel though.

This is expected to be approved at Thursdays meeting. 92m High 25 Levels. Half office half Hotel.

No architectural masterpiece, but does have an interesting street level.

I quite like this. No huge blank walls. Simple but interesting squares in the design.

Nothing exceptional, but will bring a lot to that street.

With the number of hotels going up on Currie Street it makes me hope the development making it more into a bus-way and improving the streetscape happens in the not too distant future.

Not terrible either. I thought GPO was going to turn out horrible, but has slowly won most critics over. Maybe this boxy design can, like GPO, do the same.

Is it just me or does it seem a lot of our highrises are becoming narrower? Is it because of higher land prices or is there another reason?

It's not a good/bad thing. Some "narrower" buildings look great. Just an observation.

Good to see the provision of a pedestrian laneway between Currie and Schrader streets; enhanced pedestrian permeability is a good thing for our city given its large blocks. Hopefully Soloman/Schrader continues to become a little laneway hotspot.

As for the design, doesn't bowl me over by any means but I do like the podium. A little worried about the Brightonlite precast concrete façade given the poor track record of recent developments, so fingers crossed it doesn't end up another blight.

Currie Street is about to look very different, finally getting that city feel - especially if 75 KWS gets up.

It shouldn't. They're specifically using a tinted concrete, so they're obviously intending for it for it to be a good finish raw. It'll certainly look better than painted concrete.
