It's not the best. funny how in all the pictures they show buildings to each side to the max height of the building area..
Given the properties either side this is unlikely to eventuate, but if they did then the amount of light into the property would be limited, especially once the Karidis building is developed on Angas Street which will block out all views to the east.

Just been reading through the doco and the DAC do appear very concerned about the size of the apartments (dog boxes)...

Yea the other one on KW is better, this one looks like a giant remote control for an old tv.

I actually feel sorry for anyone who needs to live in a place like that.

awful awful awful - from my persepective - obviously there is a market.

oh wow that is pretty atrocious, i dunno, hopefully it turns out like that narrow one next to the DJs carpark on north tce

hope that sometime in the future some other more attractive buildings are constructed in this area to cover this one up

Sales office is today being constructed on the corner of Waymouth and West terrace in the old Kresta? site.

Not sure what to put on my submission to DAC (received the paperwork this morning as I am in the area)....
I have no problem with the height, or even that it will stand alone for awhile, it's the crap design.

Any suggestions on what they might take as "constructive"?

tell them that it should be put on hold until other wider high rise proposals are made next door.

or tell them that these should make it wider and buy out the neighbouring places :P

just a rookie question that someone might be able to answer for me, once a building is up for public notification at the DAC (like this one) - and the close date has passed...what is the process for the proposed development? Are the public able to sit in on the discussion on whether or not these projects can/will go ahead?

Call me boaring but I'd be interested to sit in one and see how they operate/come to the decision as to whether or not they are passed.

First impressions are not positive, however those are amongst the least life-like renders I have ever seen.

I had a read of the document and it reveals that a contractor (Colliers International) has been appointed for the management of the student apartments and that construction is expected to begin in September/October of this year and take 12 months.

Not sure why people are hating this one but liking the King William St proposal. Same developer, same architect. This is just a slimmed down version of the other.

Neither of them are that great IMO, but this one's not the anti-Christ.

mgb, ask for a full colour render of the building and immediate street scape. I can't believe they can get away without doing so.
